A different perspective of the per-unit system in power system engineering A novel method using per-unit admittance instead of the conventional per-unit impedance in power engineering is proposed. The use of one MVA as base power further reduces the computational process so that fault MVA at various parts of a network can be directly obtained by calculating the equivalent source admittances.
