Complex system performance reliability prediction is one of the means to understand complex systems reliability level, make maintenance decision, and guarantee the safety of operation. By the use of complex system condition monitoring information and condition monitoring information based on support vector machine, the paper aims to provide an evaluation of the degradation of complex system performance. With degradation assessment results as input variables, the prediction model of reliability is established in Winer random process. Taking the aircraft engine as an example, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified in the paper.

Complicated structure of complex system makes it difficult to analyze and evaluate its reliability. Here we propose a method to calculate the importance of complex system components using a technique of Bernoulli State Variables (BSV). The models of three reliability importance, which describe the importance of each component, are proposed. Our studies show the method is suitable for complex artificial systems, and we proved the method can be used for maintenance decision and failure diagnosis though an example.

Pre-warning system of water resources security is a multi-level and complex system made of many factors. By analyzing current situation of water resources security pre-warning, operating mechanism of water resources security pre-warning system is put forward, Logic, time and knowledge related to operating mechanism are discussed. For pre-warning threshold decision is one of key technology in water resources security pre-warning, warning threshold decision and warning degree classification of water resources security pre-warning are set forth. These methods are systematic method, control chart method, synthetic judgement method, catastrophism method and expert decision method. Adopting the water resources security pre-warning system, situation can be analyzed and predicted promptly and effectively.

According to the demand for condition-based maintenance online decision making among a mission oriented fleet, an intelligent maintenance decision making method based on Multi-agent and heuristic rules is proposed. The process of condition-based maintenance within an aircraft fleet (each containing one or more Line Replaceable Modules) based on multiple maintenance thresholds is analyzed. Then the process is abstracted into a Multi-Agent Model, a 2-layer model structure containing host negotiation and independent negotiation is established, and the heuristic rules applied to global and local maintenance decision making is proposed. Based on Contract Net Protocol and the heuristic rules, the maintenance decision making algorithm is put forward. Finally, a fleet consisting of 10 aircrafts on a 3-wave continuous mission is illustrated to verify this method. Simulation results indicate that this method can improve the availability of the fleet, meet mission demands, rationalize the utilization of support resources and provide support for online maintenance decision making among a mission oriented fleet.

Nowadays, intelligent diagnosis for the complex system has been a forefront of issue. The application of the artificial-intelligent technology has made the dream of using men’s knowledge to diagnose the complex system, and improves it up to a new grade. Traditional diagnosis is up to technical engineer experience to estimate equipment’s status, and make a judgment; this way has many limitations and little efficiency, with the increase of complexness of the equipment, there have to get some more effective methods. In 1980s, some experts have researched on the diagnosis system using intelligent technology. With the development of computer and network technology, intelligent technology has better support platform. Experts have researched on different branches of diagnosis technology and used these ideas into diagnosis system (Wu J.P. & Xiao J.G., 1997). As the developing of Internet, all equipments have been cyber and connected to network. More and more system is consists of multiple devices and have the characteristic of the distribution. In this case, remote diagnosis system gets more attentions because of its unmatched benefits. In the remote diagnosis system, the technology of multiple agent or called multi-agent often be used to resolve difficult diagnosis problems. Intelligent diagnosis is the develop trend that could perform intelligent maintenance in a high level of efficiency. Researching on intelligent diagnosis and applying it have significant meaning. Definition and development of diagnosis is introduced in this chapter firstly, which including different branch and fussing with other area. The advantage and shortage of different technology also be introduced. Then the remote diagnosis on network is discussed. The theory and development of Multi-agent based remote diagnosis technology is also presented. The trend and scene is been bring on finally.
