Semiactive suspenesion enables variable damping to improve comfort and road handling. The method of damping force adjustment is dependent on technical solution and damper design, as well as control algorithm. Selection of adequate control policy is a topic brought up by many researchers worldwide and new semiactive suspension control algorithms are being developed which are formulated mostly for a quarter car model. The aim of the study is to answer the question, if the direct transfer of the selected control algorithms from a quarter car to the 7 degrees of freedom model, with virtually no modifications, will preserve control functions.
