According to Booch, Rumbaugh, and Jacobson (1999), developing a model for an industrial strength software system before its construction is regarded increasingly as a necessary activity in information systems development. The use of object-oriented modeling in analysis and design started to become popular in the late eighties, producing a large number of different languages and approaches. Lately, UML (2004) has taken a leading position in this area.

Abstract The concurrent collaborative working environment between teams is helpful to facilitate people to communicate freely. However, it is still impossible for people to describe CIMS accurately due to the lacking of efficient communication tools offered by the research on the CIMS analysis and design up to now. The main characteristics and bottlenecks of distributed CIMS analysis and design have been elucidated comprehensively in this paper. On the basis of the above work, a concrete distributed CIMS analysis and design software system, which was developed by the authors and others, was introduced and illustrated through a practical enterprise.

For solving the separate problem of electronic equipments structure and electromagnetic design, software system for the multi-field-coupled and multidisciplinary optimization (MDO) of electronic equipments is developed, based on electromechanical coupling theory, using parameterized modeling, MDO technology. The result of applied in reflector antenna and high density case shows that the system can promote analysis and design quality, shorten the design cycle, reduce the cost of design.
