This paper presents a compact C-band bandpass filter with improved out-of-band rejection. It consists of a symmetric three-pole parallel coupled line microstrip loaded with complementary split ring resonators (CSRRs) and slot resonators. Enhancements regarding the filter responses are obtained by etching these two parasitic shapes successively. When, CSRRs are introduced in the ground plane, exactly in the back of the transmission line of 50 -Ohms , improvements on the filter selectivity level are achieved. Whereas, the slot resonator elements are implemented on the feed line to permit the suppression of the second harmonics. To reduce the second harmonics of 11:1-13GHz, the parasitic elements are both combined, widen the filter rejection of 5:81%. The surface current distribution together with the equivalent circuit are also studied in order to demonstrate the slots and the CSRRs effect parameters on the behavior of the proposed filter. A prototype of the optimal filter is fabricated and measured.Theory and experiment results prove the validity of the new design procedure.

In this paper, an interdigital coupled microstrip bandpass filter incorporated with shorted stub multi-mode resonator at ultra-wideband spectrum is presented. Proposed filter is characterized by its ultra compactness achieved through multi-mode resonator. The proposed filter is incorporated with interdigitated transmission line based on Lange Coupler topology. This structure enhances capacitive coupling between feed line and MMR which improves lower frequency selectivity of BPF. The parameters viz. fractional bandwidth of 105%, return loss above 20 dB and insertion loss below 1 dB at centre frequency of 4.875 GHz are recorded. The bandwidth of the filter is measured to be 5.15 GHz (2.3 to 7.45 GHz). The filter shows good linearity with its group delay recorded 0.2 ns with small variations of 0.1 ns at maximum in its passband. The compactness of proposed filter makes it suitable for various modern wireless applications.

This paper proposes a compact bandpass filter using a loaded open-ended T-shaped stub. The open-ended T-shaped stub is loaded with vertical resonators placed across. The key advantage of using vertical resonators in the design is the simplicity and low insertion loss it provides. The structure used is an open-ended stub attached on one end to the transmission line (λ/2) to form a T-shaped resonator (λ/4) having vertical resonators placed across. The vertical resonator position alters the position at which the transmission zero occurs. A pair of the T-shaped resonator is placed on parallel sides of the feed line. The proposed filter is designed with the aid of Computer Simulation Technology Microwave Studio Software. The proposed concept is verified by designing filters with four different vertical resonator positions. The filter possesses a good rejection and low insertion loss of < 2dB with Chebyshev response. This filter is suited for modern-day communication applications since it shows good rejection of out of band signals.
