Glare is one of the most important factors threating expressway traffic safety an night. The most commonly way to prevent glaring night is to set anti-glare plate. Different from the straight sections of expressway, the relationship between the front light of vehicles and the distance of anti-glare plate on the horizontal curved section has some-what changed. Through a lot of tests and finite element simulation, the relationship between the distance of anti-glare plate, horizontal curve radius and anti-glare effect were analyzed systematically. Distance calculation formula of anti-glare plate in horizontal curve sections was revised in this paper. The anti-glare plate distance requirement under different expressway alignment design indexes and its calculation formula was proposed. The achievement was beneficial to confirm the anti-glare effect and improve traffic safety. It can provide us with a reference and a supplement of the specification.

Bio-inspired algorithms are sort of implementation of natural solutions to solve hard problems – so called NP problems. A seismic hazard is the probability that an earthquake will occur in a given geographic area, within a given window of time, and with ground motion intensity exceeding a given threshold. Seismic hazards prediction is one of the fields where data mining plays an important role. This paper presents a new bio-inspired algorithm motivated by the echolocation behavior of bats for seismic hazard states prediction in coal mines based on previously recorded data. It is a distance calculation based approach, Results were very satisfactory in a manner that encourage us to continue working on this approach. The implementation of the algorithm touches three fields of studies, data discovery or so called data mining, bio inspired techniques, and seismic hazards predictions.

As the living quality of the citizens gradually improved, traveling becomes an important recreational activity. The internet speedily provides information related to tour sites. However, web pages generally present merely words and pictures that are not impressive enough to the viewers. Spatial concepts, distance calculation, and tools for vacation planning are also often not provided by the websites. This study combines the usage of 3dSpace, GoogleMap, ER Model, Windows Mobile, SuperPad. It gathers the tour-sites related information of HsinChu city; such as local restaurants, famous attractions, and high rating hotels in the area. The study develops search interface integrated with the Google Map Engine. After selecting of category and input of specific key words, the related information of specific location and 360° satellite image could be shown on browser. The route calculation trips between local attractions is provided on this project. This investigation combines the GPS function to the smart phone, helping the users to arrive at their destination correctly within the minimum time.
