Energy quality problems can cause diverse failures of sensitive equipment. Dynamic voltage restorers (DVRs) are devices that have been proposed to protect sensitive loads from voltage sag effects. However, the compensation capacity of DVRs is limited by the amount of energy stored in the restorer. One way to overcome this limitation is to use the interline DVR (IDVR) structure in which two or more DVRs connected to different feeders share a common DC-link. This paper proposes a new IDVR topology based on two three-phase input matrix converters (TTI-MC) without a capacitor in the dc-link. The TTI-MC integrates the power from two feeders and synthesizes the dc-link voltage. The inverters take the dc-link voltage and generate the appropriate compensation voltages to keep the load voltages stable. Each one of the inverters has its own modulation algorithm which are synchronized with the TTI-MC control. Inverter control is carried out in the reference frame dq and a modified space vector pulse width modulation (MSV-PWM) technique is used. TTI-MC control is performed in the dq reference frame with proportional-integral controllers and the modulation is based on the carrier-based pulse width modulation (MCB-PWM) technique. The proposed Two Input Interline DVR (TI-IDVR) extends its compensation range and has multifunctional capabilities. The efficiency of the proposed TI-IDVR is corroborated by simulations on MATLAB/Simulink.

This paper emphasizes on proposing a dynamic voltage restorer–based superconducting magnetic storage devices have utilized to power quality issues. Dynamic voltage restorer can be used for different topologies of the inverter. The conventional topology of dynamic voltage restorer possessing voltage source inverter or Z-source inverter is modified into a switched coupled inductor inverter which has the clear edge in power transfer over the former. The versatility of the controller is enhanced by this work by deploying a fuzzy combine discrete wavelet transforms. The proposed system in this paper, switched coupled inductor inverter–based dynamic voltage restorer-superconducting magnetic storage devices on mitigating the interruption, harmonics and voltage sag/swell. The operating of switched coupled inductor inverter has buck/boost function capability and reduced number of passive components. Due to digitalization, higher utilization factor and reduced harmonic content, controller of fuzzy logic–space vector pulse width modulation techniques with filter application of discrete wavelet transform is used to operate of switched coupled inductor inverter. The hysteresis controller is used to perform the superconducting magnetic storage devices device, has the ability in the storage of real power with high energy density and protects the consumer from grid fluctuation. To detect the power quality disturbances quickly response and improve the compensation capability of dynamic voltage restorer-superconducting magnetic storage devices. The whole of the suggested system is simulated in MATLAB/Simulink and realized as a prototype whose control pulses are duly generated and fed by dSPACE 1104 controller.

The paper discusses the operating principles and control characteristics of a dynamic voltage restorer (DVR). It is assumed that the source voltages contain interharmonic components in addition to fundamental components. The main aim of the DVR is to produce a set of clean balanced sinusoidal voltages across the load terminals irrespective of unbalance, distortion and voltage sag/swell in the supply voltage. An algorithm has been discussed for extracting fundamental phasor sequence components from the samples of three-phase voltages or current waveforms having integer harmonics and interharmonics. The DVR operation based on extracted components is demonstrated. The switching signal is generated using a deadbeat controller. It has been shown that the DVR is able to compensate these interharmonic components such that the load voltages are perfectly regulated. The DVR operation under deep voltage sag is also discussed. The proposed DVR operation is verified through the computer simulation studies using the MATLAB software package.
