Declared national park since 2003 in the province of Naâma in Algeria, it covers an area of around  24 400 hectares. Djebel Aissa national park offers particularly favorables conditions for the development of important floristic diversity with endemic and / or rare taxa.The inventory of the plant biodiversity in the park revealed the existence of 379 taxa belonging to 52 families and 233 genera. An important endemics number has recorded:  24 North Africa, 23 Algerian-Moroccan,4 North Africa and Iberian Peninsula, 5 Algerian, 6 Saharan, 1 Algerian-Tunisian, 1 ibero-algero-Moroccan and 2 ibero –Moroccan. 65 species were reported as rare or very rare, including 15 quite rare species, 36 rare species, 12 very rare species and 2 extremely rare species.

RESUME. Diversité floristique des suberaies du Parc National de Tlemcen (Algérie). L’analyse de la diversité floristique des forêts de Hafir Zariffet a révélé l’existence de 211 taxons appartenant à 65 familles et 164 genres. Le nombre de taxons endémiques et/ou rares inventoriés comporte: 1 endémique algérien,7 algéro-marocains, 11 ibéro-algéro-marocains, 7 sont endémiques d’Afrique du Nord et 11 sont des endémiques d’Afrique du Nord et de la Péninsule ibérique. Le nombre des taxons rares s’élève à 26 dont 9 sont en même temps rares est menacés. Des efforts urgents de protection doivent êtres consentis pour préserver le chêne liège ainsi que les espèces endémiques qui lui sont inféodées.Mots clés. Geum atlanticum is a species described from North Africa and later found in Southern Iberian Peninsula. However, according to Flora iberica taxonomic treatment, it has been considered synonymous with G. sylvaticum, a species mainly distributed by Southeast of France, Iberian Peninsula, and North of Africa, sharing part of the distribution range and habitat. In this work, herbarium specimens of both G. atlanticum and G. sylvaticum were revised to evaluate morphological differences. Furthermore, the nuclear ribosomal ITS spacer was sequenced to study phylogenetic relationships among G. atlanticum and Iberian Geum species. The morphological study indicated clear differences with G. sylvaticum, and the phylogenetic analysis suggests that G. atlanticum was sister to G. sylvaticum. However, it shared several mutations with other Iberian Geum species. The number of populations is relatively low in the Iberian Peninsula, so its conservation status and its further inclusion in lists of threatened plants have been evaluated in this work.

A list of flowering plants has been compiled for the Augrabies Falls National Park, which occupies an area of approximately 18 600 ha. This list of 364 species represents 210 genera and 74 families. The Monocotyledonae are represented by 76 species (20.9 of the total number of species) and the Dicotyledonae by 288 (79.1 ). Approximately 54 of these species occur only in the Augrabies Falls National Park and not in one of the other conservation areas with which it was compared. According to the life form spectrum, the Augrabies Falls National Park is a therophyte-hemicryp- tophyte area. Five of these spesies are endemic to the Southern African floristic region. One of them is a rare species.

The conservation of natural areas and the Ecotourism The role of sustainable tourism and ecotourism in protected areas will become of increased importance for the preparation of upcoming events like the Football World Cup and Olympic Games. Therefore, specific understanding of Conservation Biology should contribute to the management of environmental tourism. To address these issues, some important aspects of Conservation Biology in global and regional scales are contextualized. This paper discusses the concepts of “biodiversity”, “common and rare species”, “minimum viable population”, the need for large natural areas for some organisms, as well as other aspects that make Conservation of Nature one of the most important issues for humanity today. Abstract The Hybrid Single-Particle Lagrangian Integrated Trajectories (HYSPLIT) model has been applied to calculate the spatial and temporal distributions of dust originating from North Africa. The model has been configured to forecast hourly particulate matter ≤10 μm (PM10) dust concentrations focusing on the impacts over the southern Iberian Peninsula. Two full years (2008 and 2009) have been simulated and compared against surface background measurement sites. A statistical analysis using discrete and categorical evaluations is presented. The model is capable of simulating the occurrence of Saharan dust episodes as observed at the measurement stations and captures the generally higher levels observed in eastern Andalusia, Spain, with respect to the western Andalusia station. But the simulation tends to underpredict the magnitude of the dust concentration peaks. The model has also been qualitatively compared with satellite data, showing generally good agreement in the spatial distribution of the dust column.
