Femtosecond laser electronic excitation tagging (FLEET) is a molecular tagging velocimetry technique that can be applied in combustion flow fields, although detailed studies of its application in combustion are still needed. We report the applicability of FLEET in premixed CH4–air flames. We found that FLEET can be applied in all of the combustion areas (e.g., the unburned region, the burned region and the reaction zone). The FLEET signal in the unburned region is significantly higher than that in the burned region. This technique is suitable for both lean and rich CH4–air combustion flow fields and its performance in lean flames is better than that in rich flames.

In recent years, rubber composites reinforced by short fibers has been researched deeply, because of its good performances such as higher wear resistance, higher cut resistance and so on. Some research results indicated that if short fibers get orientation in rubber composites, the performances of rubber products could be promoted greatly. But how to make short fibers get orientation in rubber matrix during extrusion is still a real problem. And there are many parameters affect the short fibers orientation. So, in this paper, the effects of die structure including expansion-die and dam-expansion-die on extrusion flow field of short fiber and rubber composite material during extrusion process has been researched by Polyflow. And the FEA results about the pressure field, velocity field and the velocity vector of the rubber composites flow field indicate that, comparing with expansion-die and the dam-expansion-die, the latter one is better for the extrusion process of rubber composites and making short fibers get radial orientation in rubber matrix.

A new non-intrusive flow diagnostics instrumentation system, Doppler global velocimetry, is presented. The system is capable of making simultaneous three-component velocity measurements within a selected measurement plane at video camera rates. These velocity images can provide the researcher with spatial and temporal information about the flow field in a global sense. The investigation of a vortical flow above a 75° delta wing comparing standard three-component fringe-type laser velocimetry measurements with Doppler global velocimetry measurements is presented.

In the melt-blown nonwoven fabric technology, the design of melt blowing die drawing hot air passage is very important. The design of spinning die rely on mapping and experience currently, when forming the series are often inadequate design basis. In order to obtain the die flow of air jet flow and temperature distribution, this paper analyzes the working principle of the die head assembly and establish three basic equations of jet flow field; got jet flow field velocity profile and airflow temperature distribution, experimental results shows that airflow jet flow field simulation results by Fluent obtained are true and reliable,it can also provide references of similar design.
