Background: The 1,4-alpha-glucan branching protein (GlgB) plays an important role in the glycogen biosynthesis and the deficiency in this enzyme has resulted in Glycogen storage disease and accumulation of an amylopectin-like polysaccharide. Consequently, this enzyme was considered a special topic in clinical and biotechnological research. One of the newly introduced GlgB belongs to the Neisseria sp. HMSC071A01 (Ref.Seq. WP_049335546). For in silico analysis, the 3D molecular modeling of this enzyme was conducted in the I-TASSER web server. Methods: For a better evaluation, the important characteristics of this enzyme such as functional properties, metabolic pathway and activity were investigated in the TargetP software. Additionally, the phylogenetic tree and secondary structure of this enzyme were studied by Mafft and Prabi software, respectively. Finally, the binding site properties (the maltoheptaose as substrate) were studied using the AutoDock Vina. Results: By drawing the phylogenetic tree, the closest species were the taxonomic group of Betaproteobacteria. The results showed that the structure of this enzyme had 34.45% of the alpha helix and 45.45% of the random coil. Our analysis predicted that this enzyme has a potential signal peptide in the protein sequence. Conclusion: By these analyses, a new understanding was developed related to the sequence and structure of this enzyme. Our findings can further be used in some fields of clinical and industrial biotechnology.

This chapter reviews the history of green entrepreneurship, arguing that green entrepreneurship was shaped by four different temporal contexts between the mid-nineteenth century and the present day. Although there were significant achievements over the entire period, it was only in the most recent era that green business achieved legitimacy and scale. Green entrepreneurs often had religious and ideological motivations, but they were shaped by their institutional and temporal context. They created new markets and categories through selling their ideas and products, and by imagining the meaning of sustainability. They faced hard challenges, which encouraged clustering which provided proximity advantages and higher trust levels. Combining profits and sustainability has always been difficult, and the spread of corporate environmentalism in recent decades has not helped. Although commercial success often eluded pioneers, by a willingness to think outside of traditional boxes, they have opened up new ways of thinking about sustainability.

This paper explores how digital media can cause the representational value of rap artists to be transformed. Ubiquitous access to digital recording, production and distribution technologies grants rappers an unprecedented degree of representational autonomy, meaning they are able to integrate the street aesthetic into their lyrics and music videos, and thus create content that offers a more authentic representation of their (past) lives. Sidestepping the mainstream music industry, the digital enables these integrations and bolsters the hypercapitalist impulses of content creators. I illustrate these ideas through a case study of grime artist, Bugzy Malone, who uses his music to narrate his evolution from a life of criminality (selling drugs on the street; a ‘roadman’), to one in which his representational value is recognised by commercial brands who want to partner with him because of his street credibility (collecting ‘royalties’). Bugzy Malone’s commercial success is not predicated on a departure from his criminal past, but the deliberate foregrounding of it as a marker of authenticity. The representational autonomy provided by digital media can therefore enable artists to maximise the affective cachet of the once-criminal self.

Paper-based lateral-flow immunoassays (LFIAs) have achieved considerable commercial success and their impact in diagnostics is continuously growing. LFIA results are often obtained by visualizing by the naked eye color changes in given areas, providing a qualitative information about the presence/absence of the target analyte in the sample. However, this platform has the potential to provide ultrasensitive quantitative analysis for several applications. Indeed, LFIA is based on well-established immunological techniques, which have known in the last year great advances due to the combination of highly sensitive tracers, innovative signal amplification strategies and last-generation instrumental detectors. All these available progresses can be applied also to the LFIA platform by adapting them to a portable and miniaturized format. This possibility opens countless strategies for definitively turning the LFIA technique into an ultrasensitive quantitative method. Among the different proposals for achieving this goal, the use of enzyme-based immunoassay is very well known and widespread for routine analysis and it can represent a valid approach for improving LFIA performances. Several examples have been recently reported in literature exploiting enzymes properties and features for obtaining significative advances in this field. In this review, we aim to provide a critical overview of the recent progresses in highly sensitive LFIA detection technologies, involving the exploitation of enzyme-based amplification strategies. The features and applications of the technologies, along with future developments and challenges, are also discussed.
