The purpose of the article is to explore and evaluate the possibilities of developing a «green» business in the waste sector of the Republic of Kazakhstan. One of the main directions of the implementation of the Action Plan for the transition of the Republic of Kazakhstan to a «green» economy is the area of waste management. The development of industrial enterprises and the increase in the population of Kazakhstan leads to an unconditional increase in the volume of household and industrial waste, in connection with which the problem of competent waste management is urgent. The existing system of waste management in the Republic of Kazakhstan do not effective: the formation of many spontaneous garbage dumps, most landfills do not meet the requirements of environmental and sanitary safety, there is an annual increase in waste generation with an insignificant level of their collection and processing into secondary raw stock, materials and goods. The practical significance of the study lies in the analysis of the possibilities for the development of «green» business in the field of waste and the identification of problems hindering innovative entrepreneurship in this area.

Purpose: Ecosystem problems are an increasingly complex and serious global problem faced by human beings around the world. More and more production with the use of modern technology to exploit nature continuously resulted in the declining quality of the environment. The core of a green economy is low carbon growth, resource efficiency, and social inclusivity, which have implications for sustainable development, energy management, a green economy in urban areas, as well as green business. This is in accordance with the values in Islamic economics, especially analyzed from the Maqashidal-Shariah point of view. This study intended to give an overview of halal industry management and environment conservation in the view of Maqashid ShariaDesign: This study was a literature study to overview the management of halal industry and environment conservation in the view of Maqashid Sharia.Findings: Economic dissemination with the universal values of Maqashid Sharia (linking environmental issues with aspects of sharia objectives) in fiqh al-bi'ah resulted in a decrease in the passive attitude of the community. The basis of the green economy on the problem of inequality caused by the unequal distribution of green production factors can be overcome based on the principles of al-adl (justice), Maslahah (public interest) and Musawah (equality).Originality/Values: Various obstacles that arise will be overcome because the purpose of Sharia is a concept based on the guidelines set by the Creator.

According to the Environmental Performance Index (EPI), Indonesia is listed at 133, from 180 countries in the world. The Ministry of Environment and Forestry of the Republic Indonesia has established a company performance rating, namely, PROPER, whose assessment aspect is almost equal to EPI such as environmental permits, water and air pollution, and waste management. The purpose of this research is to see the effect of profitability, solvency, and liquidity toward firm value with PROPER rating as a moderation variable. Research was conducted over 45 companies in Indonesia from 2015-2019 using multiple regression analysis. The results showed profitability and solvency had positive significant effect on the firm value. Meanwhile, liquidity had negative significant effect towards firm value. PROPER rating positively moderates the effect of profitability and solvency on firm performance. However, it negatively moderates the effect of liquidity towards firm value.

Chapter 4, PR for the “Public Interest,” reviews the endeavors which allowed industrial interests to promote their anti-environmental agenda as rational and reasonable. It also allowed them to advocate against the passage of further legislation. By advancing a rhetoric of “compromising for the common good,” PR actors helped diffuse the appearance of adversity in a 1970s and 1980s context of public concern over environmental damage, and cemented public relations as a legitimate profession with specialized skills of negotiation and dispute resolution. Throughout the 1950s, ‘60s, and ‘70s, as intensified battles over environmental futures were waged between environmental groups and business associations, PR actors found ways to create and manage influence in political contexts. PR consultants developed single-issue coalitions, public-private partnerships, green business networks, and other multiple-member groups, along with multi-pronged media strategies, to advance the idea of plurality.

Subject. This article considers the development of ‘green’ entrepreneurship in the context of ensuring the economic security of Russian regions. Objectives. We focus on developing a conceptual and instrumental basis for sustainable development of entrepreneurial segments of the ‘green’ economy, using the economic security tools for rapid identification and ranking of new threats and risks. Methods. The study rests on the methodology for determining the confidence interval to create threshold values of indicators of economic security and "green" entrepreneurship, supplemented by trend analysis to justify the priority of introducing ‘green’ entrepreneurship mechanisms in a particular region of the Russian Federation. Results. We underpin the priority of introducing mechanisms for ‘green’ entrepreneurship development, through modeling upper and lower boundaries of permissible values for indicator of air pollutant emissions from stationary sources, in the Moscow, Leningrad, Sverdlovsk, and Novosibirsk Oblast, and the Altai and Krasnodar Territory. Conclusions. Based on generalization and systematization of Russian and foreign experience, we provide a theoretical rationale for the content, role, classification, and interdependence of tools for sustainable development of business segments of the ‘green’ economy, clarify the concept of ‘sustainable development’ for the purposes of this study. We prove the hypothesis that priority support need those regions that incur the greatest risks in the environmental sphere, including large volumes of hazardous air pollutant emissions.

PurposeThis study aims to examine whether the types of eco-market orientation (eco-proactive market orientation and eco-responsive market orientation) result in green knowledge acquisition and positive organizational outcomes (green customer satisfaction [GCS], green brand image [GBI] and green value-based competitiveness [GVC]). The study further aims to explore the mediation role of green business practices in the relationship between the types of eco-market orientation and organizational outcomes.Design/methodology/approachQuestionnaire was used to garner data from managers from Ghanaian hospitality firms. The hypothesized relationships were tested using partial least square structural equation modeling.FindingsThe result confirms the notion that although both eco-proactive market orientation and eco-responsive market orientation contribute significantly to enhancing the acquisition of green knowledge, eco-responsive market orientation has a strong effect on green knowledge acquisition. Also, the outcome of the mediation analysis proves that green business practices (GBPs) play an important indirect role in the relationship between eco-market orientation (eco-proactive market orientation and eco-responsive market orientation), GCS, GBI and GVC.Originality/valueAnchored on the resource advantage theory and natural resource-based view theory, this study offers a fresh contribution to marketing and environmental management literature by developing a unified research model that explores the mediation roles of GBPs between the types of eco-market orientation (eco-proactive market orientation and eco-responsive market orientation), GCS, GBI and GVC.

In a green business the environmental competence of employees becomes a key factor in the successful implementation of environmental strategies and performance. However, there is no approach to the understanding and development of environmental competence in the context of the organization and its effect on employee’s behavior to achieve the company's environmental goals. Based on a survey of employees of an industrial enterprise and structural equations modeling (SEM) the article empirically proved that environmental competence, as a combination of knowledge, skills and value characteristics of an employee is formed as a result of a set of environmental oriented HRM practices. Also, the results of the study showed that environmental competence has a direct positive impact on the behavior of employees in solving environmental problems in the workplace and contributes to increased participation in additional environmental activities, initiative and commitment to improving environmental performance. The results of the study contribute to the development of green HRM methodology by expanding the empirical base of research on the mechanisms for the development of environmental competence of employees.
