ABSTRACT Parasaccharibacter apium displays multiple ecological strategies in its honey bee host. We sequenced the genomes of four strains found in larvae and the adult gut in order to better understand its ecology and relationship to other Acetobacteraceae . The P. apium genome consists of 2,009,892 bp and 1,830 protein-coding genes.

Bombella apis occupies a variety of distinct niches within a honey bee hive, including queen guts, royal jelly, and larval food. In an effort to better understand its evolution and identify signatures of honey bee association, we sequenced a strain isolated from hive honey stores. This genome is 2,086,308 bp long and contains 1,975 protein-coding genes.

We report the draft genome sequences of Vibrio alginolyticus strain S6-61 and Vibrio diabolicus strain S7-71, isolated from the corals Pocillopora verrucosa and Fungia danai, respectively. The genomes of strains S6-61 and S7-71 contain 4,880 and 4,641 protein coding genes, respectively, and harbor genes associated with the ectoine biosynthesis pathway.

Three freshwater planktonic filamentous cyanobacterial strains, Dolichospermum planctonicum NIES-80, Planktothrix agardhii NIES-905, and Sphaerospermopsis reniformis NIES-1949, were sequenced. The genome sizes of NIES-80, NIES-905, and NIES-1949 were 4,571,002 bp, 5,512,454 bp, and 6,025,023 bp, and the number of protein-coding genes in each genome was 4,009, 4,925, and 5,408, respectively.

The genus Saccharibacter is currently understudied, with only one described species, Saccharibacter floricola, isolated from a flower. In an effort to better understand the microbes that come in contact with native bee pollinators, we isolated and sequenced four additional strains of Saccharibacter from native bees in the genera Melissodes and Anthophora. These genomes range in size from 2,104,494 to 2,316,791 bp (mean, 2,246,664 bp) and contain between 1,860 and 2,167 (mean, 2,060) protein-coding genes.

We report here the genome sequences of 10 Klebsiella pneumoniae strains of capsular type K2 isolated in Russia from patients in an infectious clinical hospital and neurosurgical intensive care unit. The draft genome sizes range from 5.34 to 5.87 Mb and include 5,448 to 6,137 protein-coding sequences.

ABSTRACT Here, we present the draft genome of Bacillus sp. strain IGA-FME-2. This strain was isolated from the bulk soil of soybean (Glycine max L.). Its genome consists of 3,810 protein-coding genes, 44 tRNAs, two 16S rRNAs, and a single copy of 23S rRNA, with a GC content of 46.4%.

This study reports the draft genome sequence of the endophytic Streptomyces cavourensis strain YBQ59, produces the antibiotics bafilomycin D, nonactic acid, prelactone B, and 5,11-epoxy-10-cadinanol. The draft genome sequence comprises ∼10.2 Mb, with a GC content of 64% and 8,958 predicted protein-coding genes, of which 14 gene clusters were found to associate with antibiotic biosynthetic pathways.

ABSTRACT Here, we describe the draft genome sequence of Bacillus velezensis strain X-BIO-1, which contains 16 contigs, comprising 3,861,135 bp with a G+C content of 46.54%. The annotated draft genome contains 3,710 protein-coding genes and 62 RNA genes. We identified genes responsible for the synthesis of various antibiotics.

ABSTRACT The draft genome of Bacillus sp. SPB7, which was isolated from the marine sponge Spongia officinalis, is presented. This bacterium is a producer of an antimicrobial cyclic diketopiperazine, (3S,6S)-3,6-diisobutylpiperazine-2,5-dione. The genome consists of 4,511 protein-coding genes, 63 tRNAs, 2 16S rRNAs, 3 23S rRNAs, and a single copy of 5S rRNA.

ABSTRACT Clostridium oryzae was originally isolated from the soil of a Japanese rice field. C. oryzae represents a novel species within the genus Clostridium and is associated with anaerobic rice straw degradation. Here, we present the draft genome sequence of C. oryzae DSM 28571 (5.076 Mbp), containing 4,590 predicted protein-coding genes.
