ABSTRACT The full-length genome sequence of a simian foamy virus (SFVmmu_K3T), isolated from a rhesus macaque (Macaca mulatta), was obtained using high-throughput sequencing. SFVmmu_K3T consisted of 12,983 bp and had a genomic organization similar to that of other SFVs, with long terminal repeats (LTRs) and open reading frames for Gag, Pol, Env, Tas, and Bet.

This full-length genome sequence of a feline leukemia virus Kawakami-Theilen strain (designated KT-FeLV-UCD-1), produced from the chronically infected FL74-UCD-1 cell line, was obtained using high-throughput sequencing. It consisted of 8,464 bp and had a genomic organization similar to that of other gammaretroviruses, containing long terminal repeats and open reading frames for Gag, Pol, and Env.

The complete genome sequence of a simian foamy virus infecting the neotropical primate Brachyteles arachnoides (SFVbar) was obtained using next-generation sequencing and genome walking. The full-length SFVbar genome is composed of 11,994 bp and shows a genomic organization similar to that of other neotropical SFVs.

ABSTRACT We report here the full-length genome sequence of a rhabdovirus strain detected in a pool of 21 Culex pipiens and Culex torrentium mosquitos collected in southern Switzerland. The genome has a length of 11,914 nucleotides and encodes five major putative open reading frames.

We report here the first complete proviral genome sequence (DDBJ/ENA/GenBank accession no. LC094267) of a simian foamy virus, SFVmfa/Cy5061, isolated from a cynomolgus macaque ( Macaca fascicularis ). This proviral genome consists of 12,965 nucleotides and has five open reading frames, gag , pol , env , tas , and bet , as with other foamy viruses.

ABSTRACT We obtained the full-length genome of a simian foamy virus (SFV) from an infected human. This virus originated from a baboon (Papio species, strain SFVpxx_hu9406). The genome is 13,113 nucleotides long with the canonical SFV genome structure. Phylogenetically, SFVpxx_hu9406 clustered closely with SFVpan_V909/03F from a captive baboon and other Cercopithecidae SFVs.

The full-length sequence of a Papio anubis simian foamy provirus was obtained by using PCR followed by Sanger sequencing. This simian foamy virus from a P. anubis animal (SFVp.anubis) is 13,393 bp long. Like other proviruses, the genome of SFVp.anubis is organized with long terminal repeats (LTRs), as well as gag, pol, env, tas, and bet genes. SFVp.anubis is closer to Old World African strains than to New World ones.

AbstractNorovirus is recognized as one of the leading causes of acute gastroenteritis outbreaks. Genotype GII.9 was first detected in Norfolk, VA, USA, in 1997. However, the complete genome sequence of this genotype has not yet been determined. In this study, a complete genome sequence of GII.9[P7] norovirus, SCD1878_GII.9[P7], from a patient was determined using high-throughput sequencing and rapid amplification of cDNA ends (RACE) technology. The complete genome sequence of SCD1878_GII.9[P7] is 7544 nucleotides (nt) in length with a 3’ poly(A) tail and contains three open reading frames. Sequence comparisons indicated that SCD1878_GII.9[P7] shares 92.1%-92.3% nucleotide sequence identity with GII.P7 (AB258331 and AB039777) and 96.7%-97.4% identity with GII.9 (AY038599 and DQ379715). The results suggested that SCD1878_GII.9[P7] is a member of P genotype GII.P7 and G genotype GII.9. This viral sequence fills a gap at the whole-genome level for the GII.9 genotype.

ABSTRACT Novel mycobacteriophage XianYue was isolated in Northeast Georgia and infects Mycobacteria smegmatis mc2155. Actinobacteriophages which share at least 50% nucleotide identity are grouped into clusters, with XianYue in cluster A2. Its genome is 52,907 bp with 91 open reading frames (ORFs) and 62.9% GC content, and it shares 86.51% nucleotide identity with mycobacteriophage Trixie.
