ABSTRACT We sequenced the complete genome of porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) strain JX/CH/2016. Phylogenetic analysis based on the sequences of the open reading frame 5 (ORF5) gene revealed that this strain belongs to subgenotype IV. This is the first report of the complete genome sequence of PRRSV-IV.

ABSTRACT This paper provides information on the complete genome sequence of a porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus (PRRSV) strain isolated on a French pig farm which was identified as a recombinant strain from two commercial modified live virus vaccine strains of genotype 1 (VP-046BIS and DV strains).

ABSTRACT The complete genome of Zika virus (ZIKV) strain CVD_06-274 was isolated from the serum of an infected patient in Thailand in 2006. Phylogenetic analysis showed that this strain belongs to the Asian lineage and also high titers in Vero cells (RCB 10-87). It has potential for development as an inactivated ZIKV vaccine.

ABSTRACT A novel human papillomavirus (HPV ICB1) was fully characterized from a skin swab by using a sensitive degenerate PCR protocol combined with next-generation sequencing. The L1 open reading frame of HPV ICB1 shares 70.54% nucleotide homology with its closest relative, HPV164, and thus constitutes a novel human gammapapillomavirus.

ABSTRACT We report here the complete genome sequence of the human coronavirus NL63 CN0601/14 strain, first isolated from South Korea. It contains 18-nucleotide discontinuous deletions of the open reading frame 1a (ORF1a) and spike regions. This study will aid in our understanding of the complete genome sequences of isolated coronaviruses in South Korea.

ABSTRACT We report the genetic characterization of a new papillomavirus (HPV_MTS1) isolated and fully cloned from a skin swab. The L1 open reading frame of HPV_MTS1 was 85% identical to its closest human papillomavirus (HPV) type 80, which belongs to the species beta-2 of the genus Betapapillomavirus, hence qualifying it as a new HPV type.

We report the complete genome sequence of the European type 1 porcine reproductive and respiratory syndrome virus E38 strain, isolated from South Korea with a novel deletion. It contains a 61-nucleotide discontinuous deletion of the Nsp2 and Nsp12 regions. This study will aid in understanding the genetic diversity of type 1 PRRSV and in manufacturing a construct based on Korean vaccine candidate development.
