We report on the studies of the behavior of plasma species in an expanding plasma using charge collector. A Faraday cup was designed and used to measure the time of flight distribution of the positive ions in a laser produced aluminum plasma at low and moderate laser intensities. The effect of grid voltage and the dynamics of the charged particles in an ablated plume are discussed.
