Isothermal vapour-liquid equilibrium data at 65, 73 and 80 °C and isobaric ones at 101.3 kPa were measured in the tetrachloromethane-sec-butyl alcohol system. A modified circulation still of the Gillespie type was used for the measurements. Under the conditions of measurement, the system exhibits positive deviations from Raoult's law and minimum boiling-point azeotropes. The experimental data were fitted to a number of correlation equations, the most suitable being the Wilson equation.

Isothermal vapour-liquid equilibrium data at 65, 73 and 80 °C and isobaric ones at 101.3 kPa were measured in the tetrachloromethane-n-butyl alcohol system. A modified circulation still of the Gilespie type was used for the measurements. Under the conditions of measurements, the system exhibits positive deviations from Raoult's law and minimum boiling-point azeotropes. The experimental data were fitted to a number of correlation equations. The best correlation was reached with the Wilson equation but the regression failed in some cases. Therefore the results for the 5th order Redlich-Kister equation are presented.

Isothermal vapour-liquid equilibrium data at 55, 63 and 70 °C and isobaric ones at 101.3 kPa were measured in the tetrachloromethane-tert-butyl alcohol system.

Isothermal vapour-liquid equilibrium data at 65, 75 and 83°C and isobaric ones at 101.325 kPa have been measured in the tetrachloromethane-isobutyl alcohol system. A modified circulation still of the Gillespie type has been used for the measurements. The experimental data have been correlated by the Margules 3rd and 4th order equation.

Values of adjustable parameters of the Bender equation of state evaluated for chloromethane, dichloromethane, trichloromethane, tetrachloromethane, and chlorobenzene from published experimental data are presented. Experimental data employed in the evaluation included the data on state behaviour (p-ρ-T) of fluid phases, vapour-liquid equilibrium data (saturated vapour pressures and orthobaric densities), second virial coefficients, and the coordinates of the gas-liquid critical point. The description of second virial coefficient by the equation of state is examined.

AbstractThe flash points of three binary mixtures, containing n-heptane, o-xylene, m-xylene and ethylbenzene, were measured by Pensky-Martens closed cup tester. The experimental data were compared with the calculated values using Liaw’s Model with the application of Raoult’s Law and Wilson equation. These equations were in good qualitative agreement.

Liquid-liquid equilibrium data in the water-ethanol-toluene system were correlated by the superposition of the Wilson and Redlich-Kister equations with a ternary term. The correlation of both homogeneous binary systems was taken from the literature. The ternary liquid-liquid equilibrium data were at all temperatures satisfactorily described on using only three ternary parameters determined from the equilibrium data at 50 °C. The parameters obtained by the correlation yield also a good estimate of boiling point and composition of homogeneous azeotropic mixture.
