Ran and Reurings (2004) established an interesting analogue of Banach Contraction Principle in a complete metric space equipped with a partial ordering and also utilized the same oneto discuss the existence of solutions to matrix equations. Motivated by this paper, we prove results on coincidence points for a pair of weakly increasing mappings satisfying a nonlinear contraction condition described by a rational expression on an ordered complete metric space. The uniqueness of common fixed point is also discussed. Some examples are furnished to demonstrate the validity of the hypotheses of our results. As an application, we derive an existence theorem for the solution of an integral equation.

The purpose of this paper is to combine and extend some recent fixed point results of Suzuki, T., [A new type of fixed point theorem in metric spaces, Nonlinear Anal., 71 (2009), 5313–5317] and Secelean, N. A. & Wardowski, D., [ψF-contractions: not necessarily nonexpansive Picard operators, Results Math., 70 (2016), 415–431]. The continuity and the completeness conditions are replaced by orbitally continuity and orbitally completeness respectively. It is given an illustrative example of a Picard operator on a non complete metric space which is neither nonexpansive nor expansive and has a unique continuity point.

In the present paper we establish a common fixed point theorem and apply it to find new best approximation results for ordered subcompatible mappings in the hyperbolic ordered metric space. Our results unify, generalize and complement various known results.

In 1980. Fisher in [Fisher, B., Results on common fixed points on complete metric spaces, Glasgow Math. J., 21 (1980), 165–167] proved very interesting fixed point result for the pair of maps. In 1996. Kada, Suzuki and Takahashi introduced and studied the concept of w–distance in fixed point theory. In this paper, we generalize Fisher’s result for pair of mappings on metric space to complete metric space with w–distance. The obtained results do not require the continuity of maps, but more relaxing condition (C; k). As a corollary we obtain a result of Chatterjea.

Wardowski [Fixed Point Theory Appl., 2012:94] introduced a new concept of contraction and proved a fixed point theorem which generalizes Banach contraction principle. Following this direction of research, we will present some fixed point results for closed multi-valued F-contractions or multi-valued mappings which satisfy an F-contractive condition of Hardy-Rogers-type, in the setting of complete metric spaces or complete ordered metric spaces. An example and two applications, for the solution of certain functional and integral equations, are given to illustrate the usability of the obtained results.

In this paper, the concept partial S-metric space is introduced as a generalization of S-metric space. We prove certain coincidence point theorems in partial S-metric spaces. The results we obtain generalize many known results in fixed point theory. Also, some examples show the e_ectiveness of this approach.

In this paper, we introduce the concept of ?-partial weakly Zamfirescu mappings and give some approximate fixed point results for this mapping in ?-complete metric spaces. We also give some approximate fixed point results in ?-complete metric space endowed with an arbitrary binary relation and approximate fixed point results in ?-complete metric space endowed with graph. As application, we give homotopy results for ?-partial weakly Zamfirescu mapping.

In this article the coincidence points of a self mapping and a sequence of multivalued mappings are found using the graphic F-contraction. This generalizes Mizoguchi-Takahashi?s fixed point theorem for multivalued mappings on a metric space endowed with a graph. As applications we obtain a theorem in homotopy theory, an existence theorem for the solution of a system of Urysohn integral equations, and for the solution of a special type of fractional integral equations.

We consider the concept of -distance on a complete, partially ordered -metric space and prove some fixed point theorems. Then, we present some applications in integral equations of our obtained results.

We discuss Fisher’s fixed point theorem for mappings defined on a generalized metric space endowed with a graph. This work should be seen as a generalization of the classical Fisher fixed point theorem. It extends some recent works on the enlargement of Banach Contraction Principle to generalized metric spaces with graph. An example is given to illustrate our result.
