Semiautomatic 2D-to-3D conversion plays an important role in generating 3D contents for display. However, most existing methods assume that user scribbles are perfectly correct, and only give acceptable results when user provides accurate labels. To address this problem, Welsch M-estimator data fidelity is used to resist erroneous scribbles. The Welsch M-estimator data fidelity which is able to alleviate the influence of inaccurate scribbles has theoretical guarantee by means of its redescending property. First, the Welsch M-estimator is introduced to measure the fidelity between estimated depth and user provided depth; then local smoothness is built by using color weighted Welsch M-estimator to make neighboring pixels with similar colors have similar depth values. Finally, we solve the problem using generalized iteratively reweighted least squares algorithm. Experiments demonstrate that our method obtains competitive performance in the absence of inaccurate scribbles and outperforms the state of the art both visually and quantitatively in the presence of inaccurate scribbles.

Docking ring is a circular hatch of spacecraft that allows servicing spacecraft to dock in various space missions. The detection of the ring is greatly beneficial to automatic capture, rendezvous and docking. Based on its geometrical shape, we propose a real-time docking ring detection method for on-orbit spacecraft. Firstly, we extract arcs from the edge mask and classify them into four classes according to edge direction and convexity. By developing the arc selection strategy, we select a combination of arcs possibly belonging to the same ellipse, and then estimate its parameters via the least squares fitting technique. Candidate ellipses are validated according to the fitness of the estimation with the actual edge pixels. The experiments show that our method is superior to the state-of-the-art methods, and can be used in real time application. The method can also be extended to other applications.

In blind image deconvolution, priors are often leveraged to constrain the solution space, so as to alleviate the under-determinacy. Priors which are trained separately from the task of deconvolution tend to be unstable. We propose the Golf Optimizer, a novel but simple form of network that learns deep priors from data with better propagation behavior. Like playing golf, our method first estimates an aggressive propagation towards optimum using one network, and recurrently applies a residual CNN to learn the gradient of prior for delicate correction on restoration. Experiments show that our network achieves competitive performance on GoPro dataset, and our model is extremely lightweight compared with the state-of-the-art works.

In this paper, we present Dijkstra-WSA, a novel graph-based algorithm for word sense alignment. We evaluate it on four different pairs of lexical-semantic resources with different characteristics (WordNet-OmegaWiki, WordNet-Wiktionary, GermaNet-Wiktionary and WordNet-Wikipedia) and show that it achieves competitive performance on 3 out of 4 datasets. Dijkstra-WSA outperforms the state of the art on every dataset if it is combined with a back-off based on gloss similarity. We also demonstrate that Dijkstra-WSA is not only flexibly applicable to different resources but also highly parameterizable to optimize for precision or recall.

Various authors have emphasized the spatial information resident in an electron micrograph taken with adequately coherent radiation. In view of the completion of at least one such instrument, this opportunity is taken to summarize the state of the art of processing such micrographs. We use the usual symbols for the aberration coefficients, and supplement these with £ and 6 for the transverse coherence length and the fractional energy spread respectively. He also assume a weak, biologically interesting sample, with principal interest lying in the molecular skeleton remaining after obvious hydrogen loss and other radiation damage has occurred.
