Numerous raised areas are established in the field of fog computing (FC), applied for various purposes, and are evaluated for running analytics on various devices including devices of internet of things and many others in a disseminated way. FC progresses the prototype of cloud computing to network edge leading various possibilities and services. FC improves processing, decision, and intervention to take place through devices of IoT and communicate essential details. The idea of FC in healthcare based on frameworks of IoT is exploited by determining dispersed delegate layer of comprehension between the cloud and sensor hubs. The clouds suggested systems improved to overcome several challenges in ubiquitous frameworks of medical services such as energy efficiency, portability, adaptableness, and quality issues by accommodating right to take care of definite weights of the distant medical services group and sensor networks. The proposed research work has considered the analytic network process (ANP) for selection and ranking of FC-based IoT for health monitoring systems. The approach works in situation when complexity arises for health monitoring. Results of the study show the success of the research for facilitating healthcare.

Smart wearable devices, as a popular mobile device, have a broad market. Smart wearable medical devices implemented in wearable health monitoring systems can monitor the data pertaining to a patient’s body and let the patient know their own physical condition. In addition, these data can be stored, analyzed, and processed in the cloud to effectively prevent diseases. As an Internet-of-things technology, fog computing can process, store, and control data around devices in real time. However, the distributed attributes of fog nodes make the monitored body data and medical reports at risk of privacy disclosure. In this paper, we propose a fog-driven secure authentication and key exchange scheme for wearable health monitoring systems. Furthermore, we conduct a formal analysis using the Real-Oracle-Random model, Burrows–Abadi–Needham logic, and ProVerif tools and an informal analysis to perform security verification. Finally, a performance comparison with other related schemes shows that the proposed scheme has the best advantages in terms of security, computing overhead, and communication cost.

The article discusses the issue of hydrostatic leveling. Its application is presented in structural health monitoring systems in order to determine vertical displacements of controlled points. Moreover, the article includes a complete computation scheme that utilizes the estimation from observation differences, allowing the elimination of the influence of individual sensors’ systematic errors. The authors suggest two concepts of processing the measurement results depending on the sensors’ connection method. Additionally, the second concept is extended by the elements allowing the prediction of the displacements by means of Kalman filtering.
