The modern electronic age consists of many new approaches for the communication among the human civilizations and the AD HOC network is one of the successful self-configuring and infrastructure-less communicating approach. Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) comprised of mobile nodes organize themselves in such a manner that the can move freely inside the network and frequently change their position. Open architecture and dynamic nature of the network enhance its use in multimedia applications that needs graphics, audio, data, image, video and animation. Now a day’s the increasing use of multimedia and Internet technology needs quality of service (QoS) in MANETs in order to provide better service for the companies. This type of applications lends themselves well to multicast operations. As multicasting supports group oriented computing it can improve the QoS of the wireless medium by means of sending multiple copies of packets by exploring the internet broadcast properties of wireless transmission. Hence QoS multicasting plays a great role in MANETs for multimedia applications. However it is very difficult and challenging task to provide QoS multicasting. With unique features and by means of different recovery mechanisms, many researchers have been proposed various QoS based multicasting routing protocols for MANETs. In order to assist QoS multicasting routing protocols design for MANETs, we characterize the taxonomy of the multicast routing protocols and design features in this paper.

Opportunistic Routing is a promising paradigm that has been proposed for efficient and reliable transfer of data packets in mobile ad hoc networks. This routing strategy takes advantage of the broadcasting nature of the wireless medium to increase the number of probable forwarding devices and improves the reliability of data transfer in the network. Opportunistic Routing utilizes the reception of the same broadcasted packet at multiple devices in the network and selects one best forwarder dynamically from the set of multiple receivers. A number of opportunistic routing protocols have been proposed over these years for effective data delivery in ad hoc networks. But as the speed and mobility of devices increases in the network, performances of the existing opportunistic routing protocols degrade considerably, leading to reduced Quality of Service and poor transmission efficiency. The exceptional potential of opportunistic routing is thus underutilized. In this research we introduce Optimized Opportunistic Routing (OOR) strategy that guarantee excellent Quality of Service and high transmission efficiency to the latest applications using opportunistic routing for communication in highly dynamic ad hoc networks. Simulation results show that our method achieve significant performance improvements compared to all other existing opportunistic routing protocols in highly dynamic mobile ad hoc networks.

The vehicular ad-hoc networks (VANETs) are specific type or a sub form of Mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs). However the main problem which is related to this network is the Quality of Service (QoS) which mainly occurs due to rapid change topology nature in the network and lack of stability of communication. Consequently, some of the challenges that researcher focus on routing protocols for VANET. The problem which is faced by this network with these protocols is the dynamic environment in their route instability. This paper approaches the combination of Dynamic Source Routing protocol (DSR) and Particle Swarm Optimization Algorithm (PSO) to solve the problems of Routing protocols which help to improve the Quality of service (QoS) in the network. The approach which is introduced in this paper is to make use for making the better Quality of Service (QoS) in the VANET. The simulation results in MATLAB exactly predict the overall performances regarding the proposed work in terms of the packet drop ratio, transmission delay, channel utilization, Throughput and Energy consumption under varying conditions
