Em 2012, Schneewittchen – ou Branca de Neve, como a conhecemos em português –, dos irmãos Jacob e Wilhelm Grimm (1812), ganha mais uma releitura. O filme Blancanieves, do diretor Pablo Berger, é inspirado no conto (mais especificamente, Märchen) recolhido da tradição oral pelos filólogos alemães. A proposta deste artigo é, partir de duas traduções para o português do Brasil, a saber, a de Tatiana Belinky (2013) e a de Christine Röhrig (2014), examinar as relações intermidiáticas entre as obras literária e cinematográfica à luz dos estudos de Irina Rajewsky (2012) e Claus Clüver (2011), principalmente, no que se refere à caracterização da personagem principal, Branca de Neve, de seus pais, do lugar e da época onde ocorre a ação tanto do conto quanto do filme. Na produção de Berger, personagens, espaço e tempo contidos na obra dos Grimm são evidentemente ressignificados a partir de elementos do flamenco e das touradas, associados à cultura tradicional cigana presente, por sua vez, na tradição popular do sul da Espanha. A presença desses elementos faz com que a obra dialogue com outras produções bastante conhecidas sobre tais temáticas e os estereótipos que se perpetuam em relação a elas tanto na Espanha quanto fora dela ao longo de séculos. Analiso como ocorre o processo de ressignificação e de que modo ela discute ou não conceitos e preconceitos sobre elementos populares e tradicionais muito associados ao que se costuma entender por ‘cultura espanhola’, principalmente a partir do apoio teórico de Rafael Jover (2007), Francisco Aix Gracia (2002) e Gerhard Steingresse (2002).

This book explores the legacy of the Brothers Grimm in Europe and North America, from the nineteenth century to the present. The book reveals how the Grimms came to play a pivotal and unusual role in the evolution of Western folklore and in the history of the most significant cultural genre in the world—the fairy tale. Folklorists Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm sought to discover and preserve a rich abundance of stories emanating from an oral tradition, and encouraged friends, colleagues, and strangers to gather and share these tales. As a result, hundreds of thousands of wonderful folk and fairy tales poured into books throughout Europe and have kept coming. The book looks at the transformation of the Grimms' tales into children's literature, the Americanization of the tales, the “Grimm” aspects of contemporary tales, and the tales' utopian impulses. It shows that the Grimms were not the first scholars to turn their attention to folk tales, but were vital in expanding readership and setting the high standards for folk-tale collecting that continue through the current era. The book concludes with a look at contemporary adaptations of the tales and raises questions about authenticity, target audience, and consumerism. The book examines the lasting universal influence of two brothers and their collected tales on today's storytelling world.

Es hat über 100 Jahre gedauert bis das "Deutsche Wörterbuch" von Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm der Öffentlichkeitübergeben werden konnte. Am Wörterbuch, konzipiert und angefangen von den Brüdern Grimm, haben Generationenvon Philologen gearbeitet, bis es zum grössten und vollständigsten Nachschlagewerk der deutschen Sprachewurde. Es wird heute als das Jahrhundertwerk der deutschen Sprache bezeichnet.Aus den 6 Bänden und einigen Jahren Arbeitszeit, wie die Brüder das Unternehmen berechnet hatten, wurden über 30 Bände in einer Zeltspanne von mehr als 100 Jahren. Das Material zum Wörterbuch stammt zum grössten Teü von den Brüdern, die schon zu ihren Lebzeiten mehr als 30 Helfer hatten. Andere Verpflichtungen von Jacob und Wilhelm Grimm, politische Unruhen, Kriege und Inflationen haben immer wieder die Fertigstellung des Werkes, 1839 angefangen, verzögert. 1852 konnte endlich die 1. Lieferungzum Wörterbuch erscheinen. Die Brüder selbst konnten nur die Buchstaben A B C D und F bis zum Wort Furcht fertigstellen; dann nahm ihnen der Tod die Feder aus der Hand.Das vollständige Werk, eine gewaltige Leistung von Wissenschaftlern aus dem Westen und Osten Deutschlands, besitzt in 38 Bänden die Bundesuniversitat von Paraná, vielleicht als einzige in Lateinamerika.

Abstract:Karel Štrekelj (1859–1912), a prominent Slovenian folklorist and philologist, published among other a scientific edition of Slovenian Folk Songs and was also the first to introduce the term »folklore« to Slovenian humanities. He focused his scientific attention on dialects, etymology, historical grammar, and history of literature but his greatest contribution was to the field of folklore studies and ethnology. While he published the collection of folk songs, the manuscripts of folk tales have remained unpublished. These tales had been sent to him by collectors from different parts of the Slovenian ethnic territory. Although Štrekelj did intend to publish them in a critical edition of Slovenian folktales and legends his untimely death prevented him from starting to organize this extensive material. He already created some basic criteria for such an arduous task, and intended to contact his Czech colleague Jiři Polívka in Prague for further instructions. In comparison with other major yet older collections of this type, for example those published by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm, Aleksander Nikolaevič Affanasev, and Vuk Karadžić it may be said that Slovenian folktales from Štrekelj's legacy are unquestionably of great importance for the Slovenian nation though.
