AbstractA new species of the genus Cephalobus is described from natural areas in the south-eastern Iberian Peninsula. Cephalobus harpagonis sp. n. is characterised by female body length of 0.38-0.47 mm, lips amalgamated in pairs, labial probolae present as low ridges connecting tips of adjacent lips, ovary lacking flexures, spermatheca 11-12 μm long, postuterine sac very short (0.3-0.4 times corresponding body diam.), female tail conical or subcylindrical (22-31 μm, c = 13.2-17.1, c′ = 1.7-2.5) and ending in a tuberculate, often harpoon-like, mucro. Descriptions, measurements and illustrations, including SEM photographs, are also provided for C. persegnis and C. troglophilus from Spain. An identification key to Cephalobus species and a compendium of their measurements are also provided.

AbstractThree new species of the genus Ablechroiulus are described from natural areas in the SE Iberian Peninsula. Ablechroiulus castaneanus sp. n. is characterised by a body length of 0.69-0.80 mm in females and 0.58-0.76 mm in males, lip region offset by a shallow constriction and with six rounded lips bearing setae, stoma 18-20 μm long, metacorpus cylindrical, vulva prominent with high lips, female tail (45-52 μm, c = 12.5-15.6, c′ = 2.5-2.7) divided into two distinct regions, phasmid at base of anterior region of tail, male tail (39-63 μm, c = 12.1-14.8, c′ = 2.6-2.7) with posterior filiform part and acute terminus, bursa leptoderan with nine pairs of papillae (1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 3), spicules 21-25 μm long and gubernaculum 10-15 μm long. Ablechroiulus querquetulanus sp. n. is characterised by a body length of 1.2-1.5 mm in females and 1.4 mm in male, stoma 24-31 μm long, procorpus 1.5 times longer than metacorpus, female tail filiform (262-318 μm, c = 4.2-4.7, c′ = 9-11), male tail (180-228 μm, c = 6.2-7.8, c′ = 3.8-5.4) with very long posterior filiform part, bursa leptoderan with nine pairs of papillae (1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 1 + 2) of which papillae 2-3 and 5-6 are fused at base, spicules 63-72 μm long and fused at terminus and gubernaculum 32-46 μm long. Ablechroiulus verminosus sp. n. is characterised by a body length of 0.76-1.10 mm in females and 0.83-0.97 mm in males, lip region with six rounded lips bearing three setae on each side, stoma 18-26 μm long, female tail filiform (88-167 μm, c = 6.6-8.7, c′ = 5.0-7.1), male tail (63-81 μm, c = 11.0-13.3, c′ = 2.7-3.2) with posterior filiform part, bursa leptoderan with nine pairs of papillae (1 + 2 + 1 + 2 + 3) of which papillae 5-6 are fused at base, spicules 29-42 μm long, and gubernaculum 10-24 μm long. SEM pictures are provided for A. verminosus sp. n. An identification key to species of the genus as well as a tabular compendium are also provided.

A new species of the chirostylid squat lobster genus Uroptychodes Baba, 2004, U. fuscilineatus, is described and illustrated on the basis of a single ovigerous female from the Uraga Channel, central Japan, at depth of 250 m. The new species appears most similar to U. spinimarginatus (Henderson, 1885) and U. yapensis Dong, Gan & Li, 2021 among the 13 known congeners, but is notable in the pereopod 2 not being definitely more slender than the pereopods 3 and 4 and the remarkably spinose pereopods 1–4. A possible association of the new species with crinoid is suggested. An updated identification key to species of Uroptychodes is presented.

Stenogiffardia bifurca sp. nov. is described from a series of specimens collected in the former Antananarivo, Fianarantsoa, and Toliara Provinces of Madagascar. This is the first record of the genus,Evans, 1977 (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Deltocephalinae) from Madagascar, which is now the third genus of the tribe Chiasmini known from the island. The distribution of,is analyzed and an identification key to species is given.,Evans, 1977 is removed from synonymy with,(Kirkaldy, 1906).

The new sharpshooter species Sonesimia nessimiani is described from Bolivia based on specimens collected on sugar cane. An identification key to males and females of all known species of the genus is given. In addition to the external morphology, color pattern, and male genitalia, female genital structures are also described and illustrated. Notes comparing the new species with the remaining six Sonesimia species are provided.

Bursaphelenchus singaporensis sp. n. isolated in China from packaging wood of deciduous trees, imported from Singapore is described and illustrated. This new species clearly belongs to the B. xylophilus group, having males with the typically shaped spicules with a cucullus at their distal extremity, the typical position and number of caudal papillae (three pairs and one single) and the anterior vulval lip of the females developed as a distinct flap. The new species is characterized by a body length of 792 (553–950) µm and 850 (690–961) µm of males and females, respectively, robust body (a= 34 and 31, resp.), 15–16 µm-long stylet, lateral field with four lines, long postuterine branch (averaging 102 µm) and a strongly conoid female tail (c= 20) with a finely rounded, only slightly ventrally-bent terminus, male with very strong spicules (41–48 µm long), distinct rostrum and small cucullus, and a dorso-ventral visible terminal bursa. Bursaphelenchus singaporensis sp. n. is closely related to other species of the B. xylophilus group (B. xylophilus, B. mucronatus, B. kolymensis, B. fraudulentus, B. conicaudatus, B. baujardi and B. luxuriosae) and similar to B. abruptus. The morphological differentiation is mainly based on the shape of the female tail. However, B. singaporensis sp. n. differs from all other species of the B. xylophilus group by larger spicules. The new species can be differentiated from B. abruptus, B. xylophilus, B. mucronatus, B. fraudulentus, B. conicaudatus and B. luxuriosae by means of ITS-RFLP patterns.

A new species, Ophionyssus schreibericolus Moraza sp. nov. is described, based on adult females, males and protonymphal instars. Ophionyssus schreibericolus parasitizes Lacerta schreiberi, a lizard endemic to the Iberian Peninsula, and known to have persisted in refugial populations throughout the Pleistocene. A key to adult females, males and protonymphs of the genus Ophionyssus is presented. Ophionyssus viperae Miron & Ivan 2003 is synonymised with O. natricis (new synonymy).

A new species of freshwater Amphipod, Gammarus topkarai sp. nov., collected from Ivriz Creek, Tarsus Province, South Anatolia, is described and illustrated. The new species belongs to Gammarus pulex-group and shows similar characteristic features with Gammarus agrarius G. S. Karaman, 1973. Absence of well developed dorsal elevations on the urosome segments, smaller body length and relatively lower endopod/exopod ratio of third uropod are the most obvious features differ from G. agrarius. A detailed morphological description and illustrations of new species are given and differences from related species are discussed. An updated identification key of Gammarus taxa reported from Turkey, up to date, was also presented.
