The new species Salvia hasankeyfense (Lamiaceae) is here described and illustrated. It is confined to Hasankeyf ancient city, Batman, in South-eastern Turkey where it grows in rocky cracks. It is distinguished from the morphologically similar Salvia verbenaca by chiefly basal and stem leaf shape, size and indumentum, stem indumentum, and corolla colour. IUCN red list category, distribution map, notes on biogeography and ecology of the new species are also given.

Linum aksehirense (Linaceae) is described as a new species known from the slopes of the Sultan Mountains in the Akşehir district of Konya in Central Anatolia (Turkey). It is most similar to L. pubescens Banks & Sol. and L. anisocalyx P.H.Davis, from which it is easily distinguished by its stem leaf shape, sepal shape and petal colour. Seed and pollen surface ornamentations were photographed under SEM microscopy to explore micromorphological characters distinguishing the new species from close relatives. In addition, photographs of living material, a distribution map, ecological details, and an identification key are provided.

Lamium bilgilii Celep (Lamiaceae) is here described as a new species. It is confined to Altİnyayla (Dirmil), Burdur-Muğla border, in South-western Turkey. Lamium bilgilii differs from L. garganicum by its denser, long eglandular villous indumentum accompanied by short glandular hairs on the stem, leaf, inflorescence axis, calyx and corolla; larger corolla (40–52 mm), humped, and largely ventricose corolla tube and wider corolla throat. IUCN red list category, distribution map, notes on biogeography and ecology of the new species are also given.

Psychotria vasudevae, a new species belongs to the family Rubiaceae is described from the Little Nicobar Tribal Reserve and Katchal Island of the Union Territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, India. This species is closely allied to Psychotria nicobarica, by having similar leaf shape (elliptic-oblanceolate), nature of inflorescence (terminal cyme), and 5-merous flowers but from which it can be distinguished by the more slender and glabrous stems, glabrous midrib with 12 or 13 pairs of secondary veins, acute stipules, longer calyx lobes, externally pubescent corolla lobes, papillose stigma and globose fruits. A detailed description, illustration, distribution map, and photographic plate are provided.

Eremitis limae, a new species of Parianinae (Poaceae, Bambusoideae, Olyreae) endemic to the coastal forests of Bahia, Brazil, is described and illustrated. It is morphologically similar to species of Eremitis with characteristically narrow leaves: E. linearifolia, E. parviflora, and E. riodocensis. We discuss the morphological characters distinguishing the new species from its close relatives, and we also present illustrations, photos, and a distribution map. Eremitis limae is classified as Endangered (EN) according to the IUCN Red List categories and criteria.

Verbascum seydisehirense (Scrophulariaceae), endemic to the Konya region of Central Anatolia, is described as new species based on the plant’s morphological features. The new species is morphologically similar to Verbascum phrygium, but it differs from it for basal leaf shape, calyx size, corolla size, corolla indumentum and glands, and capsule shape and size. In this study, a detailed description, illustration, distribution map, conservation status and ecology of the new species are provided. Additionally, the study looks in detail at pollen grains and seed coat ornamentation of Verbascum seydisehirense and includes SEM micrographs.

Two specimens of an apparently new Bulbophylum species were found in the Monts de Cristal, Gabon. They have a unique leaf shape among the species of this genus in Continental Africa. The flower shares the general morphology of Bulbophyllum saltatorium, one of the most common members of Bulbophyllum in Central Africa. Eight other taxa of the Continental African Bulbophyllum possess unifoliate pseudobulbs and long hairs on the lip. Comparison with them indicates that the new collections from Gabon represent a distinctive species, not yet known in the genus. We describe it here as Bulbophyllum pauwelsianum. The distinguishing features of the species include its leaves, which are pendant, coriaceous, linear, semiterete and v-shaped in transverse section, and its sepals, which possess relatively long hairs on their margins. A table of the taxonomic treatments of the nine Continental African Bulbophyllum taxa considered here is included. A taxonomic key and a table of the diagnostic characters of these nine taxa are given to facilitate identification. The new species is restricted to lowland forests of the Monts de Cristal in Gabon. A preliminary assessment of the conservation status, using the IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria is provided.

Kemulariella tahirelcii Fırat, a new species from Şırnak, Turkey, is described and illustrated. It is a perennial, obligate chasmophyte that occurs in the cracks of limenstone blocky cliffs. This species is similar to K. colchica, from which it clearly differs mainly in a lesser number of flowers in the capitula, and in shorter ray and disc florets. The new species is a local endemic of the Cudi Mountain, south-eastern Turkey, being ‘Vulnerable’ (VU) [criteria B2b (i,ii,iii)] due to its narrow distribution.

Allium shahinii, a new species of Allium sect. Scorodon, is described and illustrated from Erzincan Province, Eastern Turkey. It is a narrowly distributed geophyte growing on siliceous screes of warm exposure in mountain ranges of the nemoral and thermophilous deciduous woodland zone, showing close morphological relationships mainly with A. moschatum, A. stocksianum, A. spirophyllum, A. circumflexum but it is clearly differentiated due to perigon, outer tunic, indumentum, leaf and scape characteristics. In this study, diagnostic characters, description, taxonomic comments, photographs, distribution map, detailed illustration, the conservation status of A. shahinii and identification key are provided for A. shahinii and related taxa. According to IUCN Red List Categories and Criteria, A. shahinii is assessed here as a Critically Endangered (CR) species.

We present a new species of Meliaceae, Cedrela ngobe Köcke, T.D.Penn. & Muellner, from Panama and Costa Rica. A detailed description with illustrations and a distribution map are provided. Based on distribution data and climatic niche modelling, the species is classified as Vulnerable according to IUCN Red List categories.

Vicia mingyueshanensis, a new species from the Mingyue Mountain Region of western Jiangxi, China, is described and illustrated. It is a perennial climbing liana that always links to riparian woods. A morphological comparison indicated that the new species is closely similar to Vicia taipaica K. T. Fu and Vicia dichroantha Diels; however, it differs from the other two species by several salient characters, such as plant indumentum, stipule shape, corolla colour, bractlet shape and calyx shape. Photographs, a preliminary conservation assessment, table of morphological characters and distribution map comparing this new species to two morphologically-similar species are also provided.
