Ophiorrhiza hiepii and O. hainanensis are reported as a new species and a new record for Vietnam respectively. O. hiepii is morphologically similar to O. subrubescens but differs by its smaller habit, usually unbranched stems, fewer secondary veins, umbelliform and sub-congested cymes, shorter corolla tubes and shorter stigma lobes in short-styled flowers. The mature flowers of O. hainanensis, which were unknown before, were measured in the wild for supplemental description of its floral characters. Additionally, the relationship between O. hainanensis and O. nutans, two easily confused species is clarified.

A New Species

A peltate-leaved species of Begonia was recently collected from a limestone hill in central Guangxi, China. Based on a careful study of literature, herbarium material, and plants both in the wild and in cultivation reveals that it is a new species of Begonia sect. Coelocentrum, which we hereby describe as B. ufoides. In addition to a full taxonomic account, color plates and line drawings are provided to aid in identification. Begonia ufoides may be confused with B. umbraculifolia Y. Wan & B.N. Chang in southwestern Guangxi and B. phuthoensis H.Q. Nguyen in northern Vietnam, both of which are peltate-leaved calciphilous species in sect. Coelocentrum, but the new species  is clearly distinguishable in many morphological characters. A table comparing salient features of the three species is presented.

A New Species

Peliosanthes oksanae is described and illustrated as a new species from eastern Thailand. It is most similar to P. gracilipes known from northern and southwestern Thailand and northwestern Laos, from which it differs mainly by the shorter flowering stem, flowers borne singly or binately in the axils of the bracts and almost free oblong filaments not forming a typical corona. We briefly discuss taxonomic relationships between P. oksanae and two similar species, P. gracilipes and P. caesia. It is notable that especially P. oksanae and P. gracilipes are close in floral characters to Ophiopogon. We also report P. triandra, which was described from southern Cambodia, as new to Thailand. Both P. triandra and P. oksanae occurred in the same habitat.

A New Species

Isotrema putalengense Luu, Q.B.Nguyen & H.C.Nguyen is described as a new species from northern Vietnam. It looks most morphologically like I. wardianum but is distinguishable by a combination of different leafy and floral characters. Morphological comparison between the new plant and closest species is provided. In addition, combinations of two recently described Aristolochia species are made, namely Isotrema vuquangense (T.V.Do) Luu, Q.B.Nguyen & H.C.Nguyen and Isotrema yachangense (B.G.Huang, Yan Liu & Y.S.Huang) Luu, Q.B.Nguyen & H.C.Nguyen.

A New Species

Typhonium vietnamense is described as a new species from Vietnam. It is most similar to Typhonium varians but differs in a combination of leafy and floral characters. In addition, T. khonkaenensis is newly recorded for Vietnam, leading to exclusion of T. violifolium from the national flora. An updated key to all known species of Typhonium in Vietnam is given.

A New Species

A new species of Dendrocalamus (Poaceae: Bambusoideae), D. dienbienensis is described and illustrated from Phu Tho and Dien Bien Province, Vietnam. This species is compared with its most morphologically similar species D.nianhei and D.sinicus. Besides, the relationship between the new species and D.nianhei is discussed here.

We describe a new species of the Rhacophorus genus, which differs from all species known in Asia by the combination of characters. It strongly differs also from small and middle-sized species of Rhacophorus sensu lato: Rhacophorus calcaneus Smith, 1924, Leptomantis cyanopunctatus (Manthey et Steiof, 1998), Rhacophorus hoabinhensis Nguyen, Pham, Nguyen, Ninh et Ziegler, 2017, Rhacophorus hoanglienensis Orlov, Lathrop, Murphy et Ho, 2001, Zhangixalus jarujini (Matsui et Panha, 2006), Rhacophorus laoshan Mo, Jiang, Xie et Ohler, 2008, Rhacophorus pardalis Günther, 1858, Rhacophorus rhodopus Liu et Hu, 1960, Rhacophorus robertingeri Orlov, Poyarkov, Vassilieva, Ananjeva, Nguyen, Sang, and Geissler, 2012, Leptomantis robinsonii (Boulenger, 1903), Rhacophorus spelaeus Orlov, Gnophanxay, Phimminith, and Phomphoumy, 2010, Rhacophorus translineatus Wu, 1977, Rhacophorus turpes Smith, 1940, Rhacophorus vampyrus Rowley, Le, Thi, Stuart et Hoang, 2010, Rhacophorus viridimaculatus Ostroshabov, Orlov et Nguyen, 2013 by having brown color with two green dorsolateral stripes starting at the groin level and connecting through the distal part of eyelid with green triangle on the head, slender body and head, lower ratio HW/HL 0.86, lower HW/SVL 0.28 and lower ratio HL/SVL 0.32.

The genus Agrisius Walker (1855) is reported for the first time in Cambodia, for the new species Agrisius nigripunctata sp. n. Additionally, Agrisius fuliginosus is reported for the first time in Laos, Myanmar, China, Thailand and Vietnam. Elongationa gen. nov., a new leafhopper genus (Hemiptera: Cicadellidae: Ledrinae) with one new species, E. hyalina sp. nov., is described and illustrated in detail. A checklist and key to species in the genus Midoria are provided including a new species, Midoria curvidentata sp. nov., described in this paper.
