Iljinskaea is described as a new monospecific genus based on a critical evaluation of morphology and in light of the extensive molecular phylogenetic data. The new combination I. planisiliqua is proposed, and the distinguishing characters separating the new genus from Conringia are discussed. The new tribal assignment of Iljinskaea in the Isatideae is discussed and compared with the previous placement in the Conringieae.

The morphology, ecology, and phylogenetic relationships of specimens of the family Boletaceae from subtropical and tropical China were investigated. Four species, Butyriboletushuangnianlaii, Lanmaoamacrocarpa, Neoboletusmultipunctatus, and Sutoriussubrufus, are new to science. Chalciporusradiatus and Caloboletusxiangtoushanensis are redescribed. Caloboletusguanyui is proposed to replace Boletusquercinus Hongo, an illegitimate later homonym. The recently described Tylopiluscallainus is synonymized with the Japanese Boletusvirescens, and the new combination T.virescens (Har. Takah. & Taneyama) N.K. Zeng et al. is proposed. Moreover, Neoboletus is treated as an independent genus based on evidence from morphology and molecular phylogenetic data in the present study, and many previously described taxa of Sutorius are recombined into Neoboletus: N.ferrugineus (G. Wu et al.) N.K. Zeng et al., N.flavidus (G. Wu & Zhu L. Yang) N.K. Zeng et al., N.hainanensis (T.H. Li & M. Zang) N.K. Zeng et al., N.obscureumbrinus (Hongo) N.K. Zeng et al., N.rubriporus (G. Wu & Zhu L. Yang) N.K. Zeng et al., N.sanguineoides (G. Wu & Zhu L. Yang) N.K. Zeng et al. , N.sanguineus (G. Wu & Zhu L. Yang) N.K. Zeng et al., and N.tomentulosus (M. Zang et al.) N.K. Zeng et al.

Abstract Multiple molecular phylogenetic studies have demonstrated that two Neotropical raptors, tiny hawk Accipiter superciliosus and its sister species semicollared hawk A. collaris, are not closely related to core Accipiter, and that A. superciliosus, at least, possesses osteological characters not replicated in the remainder of the genus. Based on these data, there is a need to recognise their distinctiveness at generic level. However, as recently noted in two global bird checklists, no name is available to accommodate them, so we provide a new nomen here. Furthermore, two Asian accipitrids, crested goshawk A. trivirgatus and its presumed closest relative Sulawesi goshawk A. griseiceps, are also phylogenetically distinctive; in this case the genus-group name Lophospiza is applicable. We also designate type species for two genus-group names (Hieraspiza and Eusparvius) currently in the synonymy of Accipiter, and, as an aid to future workers, we provide a synonymy of the genus Accipiter and a list of species currently included in Accipiter for which published molecular phylogenetic data are apparently lacking.

Abstract A new genus Ruiyupotamon gen. nov. and four new species, R. banqiaopingense sp. nov., R. zhongjiangense sp. nov., R. jinjiangense sp. nov., and R. zhongyiense sp. nov. belonging to the subfamily Potamiscinae (Potamidae), collected from northwestern Yunnan Province, P.R. China, are described. Molecular phylogenetic data derived from both mitochondrial (16S), and nuclear (28S and ITS2) markers supports the establishment of the new genus and four new species.

A new genus and species of cryptobenthic goby, Cerogobius petrophilus is described from the Red Sea based on nine specimens not exceeding 2.5 cm in total length, collected from a stone-rubble habitat at Thuwal, Saudi Arabia, at depths of 8–15 m. It was also observed underwater at the southern tip of Ras Mohammed and Marsa Alam in Egypt. Cerogobius petrophilus sp. nov. is unique among other gobies in its habitat, and in this regard it superficially resembles some species of blennies, occupying tight holes in stones covered with short algae. Molecular phylogenetic data suggest a close relationship between Cerogobius petrophilus sp. nov. and Hetereleotris, but the former differs from the latter morphologically in head shape with specific proportions of orbit and snout, forward-set position of eyes, a moderately large mouth, a long horn-like tentacle at the nostrils in the middle of snout, caudal peduncle deep and short, and in details of cephalic sensory system. A full description of the new genus and species is provided and is accompanied with osteological data that potentially can be informative in further comparisons with Hetereleotris.
