Diversity of lignicolous freshwater fungi in northwestern Yunnan, China is currently being studied. Four fresh collections of tubeufiaceous taxa were collected and identified. Among of them, Parahelicomyces yunnanensis sp. nov and Tubeufia nigroseptum sp. nov. are introduced as new species based on morphology and molecular phylogenetic analysis of combined ITS, SSU, TEF1-α and RPB2 sequence data. The detailed descriptions and illustrations of the new species are provided, as well as the morphological comparison with similar taxa are discussed. Two strains of Neohelicomyces aquaticus and Tubeufia cylindrothecia are provided.

Perrottetia taronensis from the Dulong Jiang valley in northwestern Yunnan Province, China and the Babulongtan mountain range in northern Kachin State, Myanmar is here described as a new species of the Dipentodontaceae. It is the third species of the genus to be recognized for China and the first to be reported for Myanmar. It is similar to P. alpestriss.s. but differs by characters of its leaf margins, inflorescences, and fruit. The three subspecies of P. alpestris recognized by Hou in “Flora Malesiana” are here recognized as three distinct species, i.e., P. alpestris, P. moluccana, and P. philippinensis on the basis of differences in diagnostic characters and distribution. The report in the “Flora of China” of the Taiwan species P. arisanensis from Yunnan is determined to be incorrect due to misidentification of two specimens at KUN.

In this study, five aquatic hyphomycetous taxa were collected and isolated from submerged wood in Lancang River located in the northwestern Yunnan Province of China. Phylogenetic analyses based on combined LSU, ITS, tef1α and rpb2 sequence matrix indicated that those five taxa belonging to Distoseptispora (Distoseptisporaceae), and they can be recognized as four species which two are introduced as new species (Distoseptispora euseptatensis and D. yunnanensis) and two are identified as D. aquatica and D. tectonae. Two isolates of the new species Distoseptispora euseptatensis formed a distinct clade among Distoseptispora species (basal to D. suoluoensis and D. bambusae) with good support (ML 100%, MP 100%, BI 1.00 PP). Distoseptispora yunnanensis clustered together with D. euseptatensis, but they are difference in the size of conidiophore and conidia. Corresponding illustrations, descriptions and phylogenetic evidences are provided to justify the placement of our newly collected Distoseptispora taxa.

Based on critical observations on herbarium specimens (including type material) and living plants in the wild, we demonstrate that Thalictrum panzhihuaense (Ranunculaceae), described from Panzhihua city in southwestern Sichuan province, China, is conspecific with T. glandulosissimum and that T. tsaii, described from Weixi county in northwestern Yunnan province, China, is extremely close to T. glandulosissimum. We therefore place T. panzhihuaense in synonymy with T. glandulosissimum and treat T. tsaii as a variety of T. glandulosissimum, i.e. T. glandulosissimum var. tsaii. The identity of T. glandulosissimum var. chaotungense is also discussed. Lectotypification is proposed for T. glandulosissimum.

A new species of the genus Enanea (Coleoptera: Tenebrionidae: Diaperinae), E. baba sp. n., is described and illustrated from Southwest China, based on a male specimen from Dulongjiang in northwestern Yunnan. Diagnostic characters of the new species are provided. This is the first record of an Enanea species from the Chinese Mainland, which represents a remarkable extension of the known range of the genus.

A new species, Rohdea changii, is described from NW Yunnan, China. It is somewhat similar to R. nepalensis, R. siamensis and R. wattii in sharing the character of the long bracts exceeding the flowers, but differs mainly by the oblanceolate leaf blades, acute leaf apices, bracts often distally lobed, oblique-zygomorphic flowers, flowers tuning to nearly white at late and after anthesis, 6 to 9 stamens, and 5-lobed stigmas. The comparison of the new species with R. nepalensis, R. siamensis and R. wattii is reported.
