Agabus puetzi sp. n. is described from the eastern part of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau (Sichuan). It is a very distinctive species, males of which can be identified easily even in the field because the inner outline of the protibiae is distinctly curved, a feature which is unknown or considerably less prominent in any other Agabus Leach, 1817. The new species undoubtedly belongs to the subgenus Acatodes Thomson, 1859, although males lack the preapical spine of the median lobe, a character which is also seen in the Nearctic Agabus audeni Wallis, 1933, and the Holarctic Agabus inexspectatus Nilsson, 1990. Due to an unusual combination of external characters (e.g., double reticulation, shape of tibiae and of proand metasternal processes) it is not easy to assign the species to one of the known species groups of the subgenus. It seems likely, however, that it belongs to the confinis-group because several other characters are shared with most members of this group. A few features suggest a closer relationship to Agabus thomsoni (J. Sahlberg, 1871) and Agabus zetterstedti Thomson, 1856. The new species raises the number of members of the confinis-group to 36, seven of which occur in China. A list of all Afrotropical and Palearctic members of this group is given and their median lobes are figured in lateral view. The lectotype of Agabus turcmenus Guignot, 1957 is designated, and its habitus and aedeagus are illustrated for the first time. Some notes on the distribution and external morphology of A. inexspectatus are included.

The family Podocinidae Berlese is reported from the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau in Southwest China for the first time, on thebasis of a new species, Podocinum tibetensis sp. nov. A revised global checklist of the genus Podocinum is provided, in-cluding distribution information and bibliography for all species. A revised key for all known species of Podocinum isalso provided, based on the adult females. The new species increases the Chinese fauna of Podocinum to 12 species and the global fauna to 30 species.

The genus Systenus Loew, 1857 is recorded from Afrotropical Region for the first time. A description of a new species, Systenus africanus Grichanov sp. nov., and notes on females of another probably new Afrotropical species are provided. The genus is considered now as cosmopolitan. A key to species and species groups of the Systenus worldwide is compiled.

Eighteen new species of the genus Meleonoma Meyrick are described: M. arcivalvata sp. nov., M. chongqingensis sp. nov., M. curvativa sp. nov., M. curvitaeniana sp. nov., M. dilatifasciata sp. nov., M. fasciptera sp. nov., M. globoidea sp. nov., M. graciliclavata sp. nov., M. grandivalvula sp. nov., M. lunata sp. nov., M. medispinea sp. nov., M. proapicalis sp. nov., M. raphidacantha sp. nov., M. sinuaclavata sp. nov., M. tenuiclavata sp. nov., M. tetrodonta sp. nov. M. ventridentata sp. nov. and M. ventrisinuata sp. nov. The female of M. similifloralis (Wang, 2006) is described for the first time. Images of both adults and genitalia are provided. All species are divided into two species-groups, the dentivalvata species-group and the fasciptera species-group. A key to each group and maps showing the distribution of each group in China are given.

Dichagyris is a diverse genus with a Holarctic distribution. Only a few taxa of the subgenus Albocosta Fibiger & Lafontaine, 1997 occur in the northwesternmost part of the Oriental region. The genus is most diverse in Turkey, Iran and the Central Asiatic high mountains. However, there is a distinct Sino-Tibetan group of species, possibly representing an undescribed subgenus. However, this idea is provisional and awaits revision of the genus. For present purposes, we assign these species to the subgenus Dichagyris. They share the following putative synapomorphies: black, dark brown or dark greyish forewing ground colour (with one exception), with obscure, reduced wing pattern and a broad-based, short, conical harpe in the male genitalia. Species of this group can be subdivided to two species-groups. In the astigmata-group which was mentioned for the first time by Hreblay et al. (1998) but without description or diagnosis from the minuta-group, the vesica is elongate and tubular (males), the appendix bursae and corpus bursae are long, sack–like, almost equal in size (females). In the minuta-group, the vesica is more ample than in the astigmata-group, and coiled, and the appendix bursae is globular and much shorter than the corpus bursae. The astigmata-group includes Dichagyris astigmata (Hampson, 1906), D. gansuensis Hreblay & Ronkay, 1998, D. geochroides (Boursin, 1948) and D. vargazoli (Gyulai & Ronkay, 2001). The minuta-group comprises D. minuta Hreblay & Plante, 1998 and D. kormos Gyulai & Ronkay, 2001. During a research expedition in Sichuan in 2019, the existence of a third species in the minuta-group was recognized, which is described here. In addition, the female and its genitalia of D. gansuensis, which was described by Hreblay & Ronkay (1998) based on a single male, are illustrated here for the first time.

Two new species groups are established for East Palaearctic species of the genus Anthobium Leach, 1819: the atrocephalum group containing the widespread Palaearctic A. atrocephalum (Gyllenhal, 1827), A. formosanum Shavrin, sp. n. (Taiwan), A. hammondi Watanabe, 1990 (Japan), A. lackneri Shavrin, sp. n. (Japan: Hokkaido), and two Chinese species, A. kabateki Shavrin, sp. n. (Yunnan, Gansu) and A. marci Shavrin, sp. n. (Sichuan); the convexior group containing four new species from China: A. convexior Shavrin, sp. n. (Shaanxi, Sichuan), A. auritum Shavrin, sp. n. (Yunnan), A. kabaki Shavrin, sp. n. (Sichuan), and A. semenovi Shavrin, sp. n. (Sichuan). New species are described and illustrated. The species groups are defined, briefly discussed and a key to the species of each group is given. Additionally, a new species of the morchella group, A. inopinatum Shavrin, sp. n. (China: Yunnan) and the nigrum group, A. bengalicum Shavrin, sp. n. (India: West Bengal), are described and illustrated. New faunistic records of A. reflexum (Reitter, 1891) from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Tajikistan are provided.

A new species of Achnatherum from Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is described and illustrated. It is distinguished from other species of the genus by attributes of ligules, panicles, glumes, lemmas, awns and anthers. Evidence from lemma epidermal pattern, cytology and morphology confirm its systematic position in Achnatherum s.s.

The present study reviews the Alompra ferruginea Moore, 1872 group. A. ferruginea bidiensis Tams, 1953 (TL: Borneo) and A. ferruginea cerastes Tams, 1953 (TL: Mindanao) are both raised to bona species level. The population of Taiwan is described as a new species, A. yibinfani sp. nov. The lectotype of A. ferruginea is designated from BMNH, the holotype of A. ferruginea cerastes is designated from USNM. A. ferruginea is listed here from Vietnam for the first time.

AbstractEupontania Zinovjev, 1985, originally described as a subgenus of Pontania, is treated as a distinct genus of the subtribe Euurina Vikberg, which consists of the genera Euura Newman, Eupontania Zinovjev (stat. n.), Pontania A. Costa and Phyllocolpa Benson. Separate keys are given to distinguish these genera and the species-groups of Pontania and Phyllocolpa, and for 11 species of the Pontania crassispinu-group. A new species, Pontania rotundidentata sp. n. is described from eastern North America. The lectotypes are designated for P. crassispina (Thomson) and P. joergenseni Enslin. Pontania devincta MacGillivray (syn. n.) is treated as a synonym of P. populi Marlatt.

The authors report the genus Zethus Fabricius from Taiwan for the first time and describe a new species, Zethus taiwanus sp. nov. (holotype, Guishan, Xindian District, New Taipei City), which is most similar to Z. nigerrimus Gusenleitner, 2001 in female morphology. Zethus trimaculatus Cameron, 1904 is re-described based on the female holotype and the male of Z. nigerrimus also described for the first time. Following Giordani Soika's criteria for sub-groupings of the Oriental Zethus, Z. taiwanus, Z. nigerrimus and two recently described species, Z. tansoneus Nguyen & Carpenter, 2016 and Z. tumidus Nguyen & Carpenter, 2016, are subsequently added to the trimaculatus-group. A key to the Zethus trimaculatus-group is provided based mainly on male characters.
