The Holarctic genus Agonochaetia is reviewed and a new species, Agonochaetia shawinigan Landry, sp. nov. is described from Québec, Canada. In addition, a new glandiductor-bearing genus and species, Canarischema fuerteventura Karsholt, gen. nov., sp. nov. is described from the Canary Islands. Comparative diagnoses, a key to species, illustrations of external aspect, male and female genitalia are provided for all species. Most species of Agonochaetia are rarely collected and known only from their types or from very few specimens. DNA barcodes are provided for four of the species from which DNA was recovered. Analysis of DNA barcodes suggests that Agonochaetia may be paraphyletic. Phylogenetic relationships to other Gnorimoschemini genera bearing a pair of glandiductors above the phallus are discussed.

A new gall midge genus, Distinctamyia gen. nov., and a new species Distinctamyia matogrossensis sp. nov. (Diptera, Cecidomyiidae) are herein described and illustrated (larvae, pupal exuviae, male and female). The new species induces conical, green, hairy and one chambered galls on leaf and bud of Simarouba amara Aubl. (Simaroubaceae). A new genus Burmanyctycia gen. n. is described for the new species Burmanyctycia naumanni sp. n. from Chin State in north-western Myanmar. The new genus is related to the genera Blepharomima Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, Bryotypella Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998 and Charanyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998. Two new synonyms are established: Bryotypella = Paranyctycia Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. and Bryotypella = Parabole Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998, syn. n. Six new combinations are established: Bryotypella minima (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella miraculosa (Hreblay, Peregovits & L. Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella orbiculosa (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n., Bryotypella rubiculosa (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1999), comb. n., Bryotypella medionigra (Hreblay & Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. and Bryotypella rectilinea (Hreblay & L. Ronkay, 1998), comb. n. The check-lists of the genera Bryotypella and Charanyctycia are provided. Adults, male and female genitalia of the new and the related taxa are illustrated.

The new genus Nebulene Volynkin & Černý, gen. nov. is described for Setina nebulosa Moore, 1878. The new genus belongs to the Asura / Miltochrista generic complex and is related to Barsura Volynkin, Dubatolov & Kishida, 2017, Barsine Walker, 1854 and Miltochrista Hübner, [1819]. A new species, Nebulene monocornuta Volynkin & Černý, sp. nov. is described from Thailand and Vietnam. A lectotype is designated for Setina nebulosa Moore, 1878. Adults, male and female genitalia of both Nebulene species and representatives of the related genera are illustrated.

A new riffle beetle, Zunielmis pax gen. et sp. nov., is described from Colombia (Vichada, Puerto Carreño, Bita River basin). It can be distinguished from all the other elmids by having large areas of a microgranular mesh (plastron) on the pronotum and elytra, crenulate lateral margin of the latter two, the shorter interocular distance than diameter of each eye, as well as by the characters of the structure of mandibles, the shape and sculpture of pronotum, and the structure of mesosternum, mesotibiae and elytra. The imagoes were collected on freshwater sponges. The habitat, where the new species was found, is described, and the adaptive meaning of the characteristics of plastron are discussed. Drawings and photographs of the adult habitus, distinctive morphological characters, and male and female genitalia are provided.

AbstractThe Australian species of Allomethus and Claraeola are revised and include one described species, Claraeola erinys (Perkins), and five new species: Allomethus unicicolis sp. n., Claraeola cyclohirta sp. n., C. sicilis sp. n., C. spargosis sp. n., and C. yingka sp. n.. Claraeola hylaea (Perkins) is proposed to be a synonym of C. erinys (Perkins). A key to species is provided and male and female genitalia are illustrated. The Australian species are placed phylogenetically into a world context using available taxa within the Allomethus genus group. The phylogenetic relationships are discussed in light of a cladistic analysis involving 22 taxa and 60 characters.
