(type locality Kenya, Garissa, S of Bura), Azygophleps defreinai Yakovlev & Witt, sp. nov. (type locality South Africa, KwaZulu Natal Prov., Südl. Drakensberge Region, 30 km SSW Underberg, Coleford Nature Reserve) and Azygophleps junkeri Yakovlev & Witt, sp. nov. (type locality Angola, prov. Benguela, btw Cutembo & Caluquembe, 14 km E Cutembo) are described.

A dedicated “Bioblitz” survey of the Ntinini Nature Reserve was organized and coordinated by Ezemvelo KwaZulu- Natal (EKZN) Wildlife, during the period 16–18 November 2010. The main aim of the Bioblitz was to provide biodiversity data that could assist in assessing the necessity of a formal proclamation for the protection of the reserve, within the scope of the integrated Biodiversity Conservation Planning of EKZN Wildlife

Two new species of the genus Erica L. from the north-facing slopes of the Langeberg are described— E turneri,  known only from the type locality on Zuurbraak Mountain and E. euryphylla,  occurring on the same mountain slope, as well as on the middle north-facing slopes   of Hermitage Peak near Misty Point in the Marloth Nature Reserve above Swellendam.

Southern AfricanChoeradesWalker, 1851 are reviewed. Six species are recognised (C.analogossp. n.described from South Africa: KwaZulu-Natal,C.bella(Loew, 1858),C.flavipes(Wiedemann, 1821),C.multipunctata(Oldroyd, 1974),C.nigrapex(Bigot, 1878),C.nigrescens(Ricardo, 1925)) and a key for their separation is provided. Distributional information demonstrates that species are found primarily in moderate to higher rainfall regions. The little that is known of their biology is discussed. Species are usually associated with indigenous forest habitats where larval development takes place in decomposing wood.

Clivia mirabilis Rourke is a new pendulous tubular-flowered species from Oorlogskloof Nature Reserve in Northern Cape. Its distribution area is some 800 km outside the previously accepted range of the genus Clivia. This sun-tolerant species is adapted to an arid Mediterranean climate, producing vegetative growth in winter and maturing its seeds rapidly in late summer/early autumn to synchronize with the arrival of winter rains.

Ingcainyenzane irhiniensis n. gen., n. sp. and Ingcainyenzane nolukhanyoensis n. gen., n. sp. are described from Eastern Cape and Ingcainyenzane umgeniensis n. gen., n. sp. is described from KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Acrobeles fananae spec. nov. is described from two localities on the west coast of South Africa. The new species is characterised by body length of 0.7-0.8 mm; relatively slender, cylindroid body, abruptly ventrally bent in vulval region; vulva with protruding lips and situated in a sunken area; three incisures in lateral field; and cuticle with an intricate interlocked block-like pattern. Additional data is presented on the morphology of Seleborca complexa (Thorne, 1925) collected in the same area.

The present study is based on oribatid mite material (Acari, Oribatida) collected from nests of the termite Trinervitermes trinervoides(Isoptera, Termitidae) of the Faan Meintjes Nature The present study is based on oribatid mite material (Acari, Oribatida) collected from nests of the termite Trinervitermes trinervoides (Sjöstedt, 1911) (Isoptera, Termitidae) of the Faan Meintjes Nature Reserve in South Africa. A list of identified taxa, including nine species, eight genera and seven families, is presented. One new species is described; Saltatrichus louiseae sp. nov. (Zetomotrichidae) differs from all species of the genus by the long, thick interlamellar setae and setiform setae ft” on leg tarsi IV. Bipassalozetes bidactylus (Coggi, 1900) is recorded in the fauna of South Africa for the first time. The five species with the highest abundance and occurrence in nests were Coetzeella navalensis Ermilov, Hugo-Coetzee & Khaustov, 2017, B. bidactylus, S. louiseae sp. nov., Ausoribula bloemfonteinensis Ermilov, Hugo-Coetzee & Khaustov, 2017 and Transoribates agricola (Nakamura & Aoki, 1989). Remarks on variations of B. bidactylus and C. navalensis are given.

Platepistoma seani sp. nov. is described from deep water off KwaZulu-Natal Province, South Africa. It can be separatedfrom its nearest relative, Platepistoma guezei (Crosnier, 1976), by its thicker setal covering that completely hides the an-terolateral teeth from dorsal view, less well defined carapace regions, more spinous anterolateral and posterolateral cara-pace margins, sparser but more prominent dorsal carapace spines, more prominent spines on the carpus of the cheliped, and a relatively narrower male telson.

Aphanolaimus strilliae n. sp. and Makatinus africanus n. sp. are described from freshwater sources in the Telperion Nature Reserve, Mpumalanga, South Africa. Aphanolaimus strilliae n. sp. is characterised by a body length of 1240–1613 μm, more than 800 body annules, lateral field originating between the first and second lateral body pore at the 34th–46th annule, first lateral body pore located at the 25th–35th annule, vagina V-shaped and bent anteriorly, 142–195 µm long uterus and 165–207 µm long tail with spinneret offset. This species is ovoviviparous and no males were found. Makatinus africanus n. sp. is characterised by a large, thick body (3228–4128 μm long, a = 30–39 wide), slightly set off lip region with amalgamated lips; 31–34 μm long odontostyle; long tongue-shaped cardia, and stout, short tail (30–43 μm long) with a small peg / digitate extension and male absent. Populations of three known species, Chronogaster africana, Eutobrilus annetteae and Neotobrilus ampiei, from fresh water at the Telperion Nature Reserve are described and scanning electron microscope graphs of these species published for the first time.
