The hypogean ground beetle genus Aspidaphaenops Uéno, 2006 is reviewed. Some new information of A. reflexus Uéno, 2006 is provided, including the male genital characteristics as well as a new locality. Two new species are described and illustrated from southwestern Guizhou Province, southwest China: A. xiongda n. sp. (Guizhou: Anlong: Fengyan Dong), A. dudou n. sp. (Guizhou: Xingyi: Xiaozi Dong). A key to all Aspidaphaenops species is also provided.

Two new species of Lohmanniidae, Papillacarus (Papillacarus) retinervius sp. nov. from soil in Hainan Province, South China and Papillacarus (Papillacarus) mammilatus sp. nov. from moss and soil in Guizhou Province, Southwest China are described and illustrated. Papillacarus (P.) retinervius sp. nov. is most similar to Papillacarus (P.) polygonatus (Ermilov & Anichkin, 2011), however, it can be distinguished from the latter by the following characterstics: 20–21 pairs of additional neotrichal setae, setae d2, e2, h1, p1 shorter, as long as d1, epimeral setal formula 10-8-4-3. Papillacarus (P.) mammilatus sp. nov. is most similar to Papillacarus (P.) angulatus (Wallwork, 1962), however, it can be distinguished from the latter by the following characterstics: transverse bands S3 complete, eight pairs of subcapitular setae, epimeral setal formula 10-6-3-4.

Ckacus youcha n. gen. & n. sp. is described and illustrated based on a single male discovered in the deep area of Luoshui Dong, a vertical cave in Anlong Xian, southwestern most of Guizhou Province, Southwest China. This new genus seems related to Bathytrechus Uéno, 2005 from Leye Xian, northwestern most Guangxi by its elongate body which is wholly pubescent, the tridentate right mandible and the well-striated elytra with the 1st interval extremely narrowed at apical 1/3, but differs in several important characters. In addition, three individuals of the species Satotrechus rieae Uéno, 2006 were also collected from -340 m to -450 m in the same cave. This species was formerly only known from four caves in Anlong and Ceheng counties.

A new genus and two new species of cavernicolous trechine beetles are reported from southern Guizhou Province, Southwest China: Miaotrechus mahua n. gen., n. sp. from the cave Miaoting, Getuhe cave system, Ziyun Miao & Buyi Zizhi Xian (Autonomous County), Anshun Shi; M. heweii n. sp. from the cave Jingua Dong, danzhai County, Qiandongnan Miao & Dong Zizhizhou (Autonomous Prefecture). Miaotrechus might be related to the genus Guizhaphaenops Vigna Taglianti, 1997, but it is an Anophthalmus-like, whereas Guizhaphaenops species are semi-aphaenopsian.

A revision of the genus Sinaphaenops Uéno et Wang, 1991 is provided, with a modified key to species. Two new species are described and illustrated in southern Guizhou Province: S. yaolinensis sp. n. (from a limestone cave called Yaolin Rongdong, Du’yun Shi) and S. banshanicus sp. n. (from Cave Banshan Dong, Guiding County). Male genital characteristics of S. mochongensis Tian et Huang, 2014 are reported for the first time. New records for other three Sinaphaenops species are given. In addition, an identification key to subgenera and species of Sinaphaenops is provided.

Three water mite species of the genus Torrenticola Piersig, 1896 are reported from Foding Mountain National Nature Reserve, Guizhou Province, China. Torrenticola fodingensis Gu & Guo, n. sp. and T. tenuichelicera Gu & Guo, n. sp. are described and illustrated as new to science, and T. nipponica (Enami, 1940) is recorded in China for the first time, with the first description and illustration of its deutonymph. In addition, a key to the species ofTorrenticola in China is presented in this paper. The type specimens of the new species are deposited in Institute of Entomology, Guizhou University, Guiyang, P. R. China (GUGC).

Two new species of the damselfly genus Euphaea Selys, 1840 (Odonata: Euphaeidae) are described from the Western Ghats of Satara District, Maharashtra, distinguished by their distinct morphology and coloration. E. thosegharensis Sadasivan & Bhakare sp. nov. is similar to E. cardinalis (Fraser, 1924), but is distinguished by the extensor and flexor surface of all femora black while all femora bright red in E. cardinalis; apical fourth of Hw black while apical half of Hw black in E. cardinalis; genae reddish-orange, black in E. cardinalis; a tuft of sparse stub black hair on either side of tergite of S9 while both S8 and S9 with tufts of long ventral hairs in E. cardinalis.  Male genital vesicle matt black, with distal border rounded angles, while vesicle black and hexagonal in shape with rounded angles in E. cardinalis and S9 twice the length of S10, while S9 and S10 of equal length in E. cardinalis. E. pseudodispar Sadasivan & Bhakare sp. nov., is very close to E. dispar (Rambur, 1842), but is differentiated easily by the absence of yellow patch on legs as in E. dispar; only apical fifth of Hw black; genae being yellowish-white, while black in E. dispar; male genital vesicle brownish-black & rhomboid-shaped and with no transverse rugosities while black with distal border rounded and with fine transverse rugosities in E. dispar; penis with single seta on each side while E. dispar has three pairs; sternite of S9 very prominently extending ventrally like a beak in comparison with E. dispar.  We have identified additional morphological characters useful in taxonomy of Euphaea of the Western Ghats for example, tufts of ventral hairs on terminal abdominal segments genital vesicle, penile structure of males and sternite of S9 in the males, and vulvar scales of females.  A taxonomic key to all known species of genus Euphaea of the Western Ghats is also provided.

Two new species (Speonemobius bifasciatus sp. nov., Speonemobius fulvus sp. nov.) are found in southwest China. The morphology and genitalia are described in this paper. One known (M. romanicus) and two new species of the genus Metaporcelaimus, collected in natural and semi-natural habitats of Ukraine, are described and illustrated. Metaporcelaimus concinnus sp. n. is characterized by its 3.09–4.58 mm long body, lip region 16.5–19.5 µm broad and visibly wider than the adjacent body, odontostyle 17–19 µm long, neck 745–865 µm long, pharyngeal expansion occupying 62–66% of total neck length, uterus tripartite and 3.9–5.7 times the corresponding body diameter, vulva longitudinal (V = 49–53%), tail conical (44–54 µm, c = 67–94, c’ = 1.0–1.3 in females), spicules 79–86 µm long with strongly bifurcate distal end, and 10–14 irregularly spaced ventromedian supplements without hiatus. Metaporcelaimus declivicaudatus sp. n. is characterized by its 2.88–3.66 mm long body, lip region 23–28 µm broad, odontostyle 24–26 µm long, neck 634–788 µm long, pharyngeal expansion occupying 48–56% of total neck length, uterus tripartite and 3.0–3.4 times the corresponding body diameter long, vulva transverse (V = 51–55%), tail conical (45–65 µm, c = 53–63, c’ = 1.0–1.2) with rounded terminus, spicules 102–113 µm long, and 12–14 spaced ventromedian supplements without hiatus. New information about M. romanicus is also provided, confirming available data about this species.

Recent studies have highlighted the underestimated diversity of the genus Diploderma Hallowell, 1861 in the Hengduan Mountain Region in Southwest China, but much of the region remains poorly surveyed for reptile diversity. In this study we describe two new species of Diploderma from the upper Jinsha and middle Yalong River Valley, based on evaluations of morphological, genetic, and distribution data. The two new species are morphologically most similar to D. angustelinea and D. vela, but they can be diagnosed from both recognized taxa and all remaining congeners by a suite of morphological features, particularly the distinct coloration of gular spots. Additionally, both new species either render other recognized species paraphyletic or are allopatric with respect to their morphologically similar congeners. Furthermore, we rediscover D. brevicaudum in the wild for the first time, which was known from historical museum specimens only. We estimate the phylogenetic position of D. brevicaudum within the genus Diploderma based on mitochondrial genealogy, and we provide an expanded diagnosis and comparisons against closely related congeners and provide a detailed description of coloration in life based on newly collected specimens. Our discoveries of the new Diploderma species further highlight the urgent conservation needs of the currently neglected hot-dry valley ecosystems in the Hengduan Mountain Region of China.
