A new species of malachite beetles, Protomauroania mikhailovi Tshernyshev & Perkovsky, sp. n. is described from late Eocene Rovno amber. The new beetle is the second species of the Eocene fossil genus Protomauroania Tshernyshev, 2021 that was first recorded in Rovno amber and shows fauna similarity of dasytids in Baltic and Rovno amber. The new species is typical owing to the following characters: antennae with 5-segmented wide club, surface covered with dark-brown long semi-erect thin setae, and the ultimate ventrite (apical sternite) simple, narrow, not depressed. Digital high resolution pictures of the beetle are provided.

First Record of Mites of the Family Stigmaeidae (Acari, Raphignathoidea) from Rovno Amber with Description of a New Species of the Genus Mediolata A new species, Mediolata eocenica Kuznetsov, Khaustov et Perkovsky, sp. n., is described from the Late Eocene Rovno amber. It is the first fossil record of Stigmaeidae.

Succinoraphidia radioni sp. nov. (Raphidiidae) is described from the late Eocene Rovno amber, Ukraine. The genus also includes two species from contemporaneous Baltic amber, i.e., S. exhibens Aspöck & Aspöck, 2004 and S. baltica (Carpenter, 1957), comb. nov. The venation of Succinoraphidia is analysed. It possesses several plesiomorphic character states at the family level, and the monotypic subfamily Succinoraphidinae represents a basal group within the family or possibly even a potential stem group of Raphidiidae. All diagnostic character states of Succinoraphidia (except the structure of the pterostigma) are found in a few Cretaceous species of the paraphyletic Mesoraphidiidae, but some of these are not found in the extant Raphidiidae.

A new species of the fossil ant genus Drymomyrmex Wheeler, 1915, D. rasnitsyni sp. nov., is described from the late Eocene Rovno amber (Ukraine). This is the first find of a worker of this genus and the first record of Drymomyrmex in the Rovno amber. Based on the analysis of the morphological features of gynes and worker it is proposed to attribute Drymomyrmex to the tribe Plagiolepidini Forel, 1886.

A new species, Formica ribbeckei Radchenko & Perkovsky, sp. nov., is described based on four workers from late Eocene Rovno amber (Ukraine). It most resembles F. flori Mayr, 1868 but differs from the latter mainly by the 5-segmented maxillary palps with the preapical segment subequal in length to the apical one, and by the shorter first funicular segment. Fossil F. luteola Presl, 1822, F. trigona Presl, 1822, F. macrognatha Presl, 1822 and F. quadrata Holl, 1829 are considered incertae sedis in Formicidae. Thus, ten valid Formica Linnaeus, 1758 species (including F. ribbeckei) are known now from late Eocene European ambers. The diversity of Formica in the early and middle Eocene deposits of Eurasia and North America is considered. It is assumed that the genus Formica most likely arose in the early Eocene.

Sympherobius irinae sp. nov. (Neuroptera: Hemerobiidae: Sympherobiinae) is described from the late Eocene Rovno amber, Ukraine. It differs from other species of the genus by small details in the forewing venation: (1) crossvein 3rp1-rp2 is not strongly shifted distally relative to neighboring crossveins in the third gradate series, and (2) the humeral veinlet has only two branches. All four late Eocene species form a distinctive species group, which is named here the completus species group, distinguished from other species of the genus by the presence of the crossvein 3rp2-rp3 in the forewing in distal position, connecting RP2 and RP3. The neuropteran assemblages of the Bembridge Marls and succinites (particularly Baltic and Rovno ambers) are briefly compared. The assemblages of some families are relatively similar, but there are obvious differences in others. It is impossible to draw conclusions about the age of Baltic or Rovno ambers based on this weak similarity.

Abstract Based on a fossil specimen from Late Eocene Rovno amber, Latridius usovae Sergi et Perkovsky, sp. n. is described. It differs from Latridius alexeevi Bukejs, Kirejtshuk et Rucker, 2011 and L. jantaricus Borowiec, 1985 (both described from Baltic amber) by the shape of pronotum, elytra, mid and hind tibiae.

Proneuronema sidorchukae sp. nov. (Neuroptera: Hemerobiidae: Drepanepteryginae) is described from the late Eocene Rovno amber, Ukraine. It is most similar to P. minor from Baltic amber, but easily distinguished from it by some crossveins in the third gradate series of the forewing broadly margined with dark brown, the proximal part of the costal space narrower, and proximal subcostal veinlets more oblique. The new species is the smallest known of the genus, with a forewing length of 5.9 mm. Rovno amber hemerobiids show a tendency to decrease in size compared to congeneric or conspecific specimens from Baltic amber. The morphology and terminology of the mesonotum in Hemerobiidae is discussed.

Recent discoveries of amber deposits have resulted in numerous new caddisfly species of Rovno amber described in a series of recent papers (Melnitsky & Ivanov, 2010, 2013, 2016a, b). The list of species previously known from Rovno amber included 42 species (Ivanov et al., 2016; Perkovsky, 2017). Our study is based on a collection of Trichoptera from a new Rovno amber locality near Olevsk in Zhytomyr region. Nine amber species have been reported from this region (Legalov et al., 2021; Radchenko et al., 2021), including new ant species, a new anthribid, two new genera, and four new species of gall midges (Fedotova & Perkovsky, 2015, 2017); additional new cicadellid genus and species is described from closely connected fauna of Perebrody (Dietrich et al., 2021). It total, the new collection includes 6 pieces of Rovno Amber with six specimens of Trichoptera, two of those are described below as a new species of Electrotrichia.

A new species, Dorytomus mikhailovi sp. n., from late Eocene Rovno amber is described and illustrated. The new species is similar to D. groehni Bukejs et Legalov, 2019 from Baltic amber but differs in the shorter rostrum, dorsum covered with denser decumbent hairs and erect to semierect scale-like setae, and smaller body sizes. It is distinguished from D. bukejsi Legalov, 2020 from Baltic amber by the densely punctate pronotum, longer rostrum and wide elytral interstriae. The new species differs from D. vlaskini Legalov et al., 2019 from Rovno amber by the elytral interstriae covered with decumbent hairs and erect to semierect scale-like setae, shorter rostrum and coarsely punctuate pronotum. It is the first named curculionid beetle from the Olevsk amber locality, and the eleventh amber species reported from the Zhitomyr region. The presence of seven species of Dorytomus suggests a rather high diversity of Salicaceae in the late Eocene amber forests of Europe. It corresponds well with other principal Holarctic species in European amber biotas.
