Recently we outlined a prescribing policy designed to help reduce benzodiazepine use in hospitals.1 Most benzodiazepine prescribing takes place in general practice and, although benzodiazepine use has fallen in the last 15 years, many GPs will still have up to 50 long-term users on their lists.
