This paper proposed a pulley-buoy accelerated type linear wave power generation system, and verifies its feasibility and effectiveness through experiments. Compared with traditional three-phase wave energy converter, the process of energy transfer was cancelled in the pulley-buoy accelerated type linear wave power generation system, wave energy was converted into electrical energy through the movement of float directly. In the system, the pulley assembly increased the velocity of the float and the generating capacity of the linear generation system, thereby increasing its conversion efficiency. In the experiment, an undersized pulley-buoy accelerated type linear wave power generation system and a swing wave-making system were built in the laboratory. The experiment explored the influence of the number of the stator coil on the power generation performance of the system, and results showed that within the scope of this research, increasing the stator coils to a certain extent could effectively raise the efficiency of wave energy conversion and improve the generation performance of the pulley-buoy accelerated type linear wave power generation system. This research provides valuable experience for the actual application and effective operation of wave energy conversion system.

With the increasing demand for renewable energy in the world, research contributing to the improvement of the technology level of wave power generation is essential. The authors have been developed a wave power generation system using port facilities in inner bays with high energy-consuming cities. In this study, the relationship between the rotational characteristics of a Savonius water turbine and the water particle velocity was quantitatively evaluated under the calm conditions of the inner bay, such as wave motion, flow, and coexistence of wave and current. According to the experimental results, it is found that the relationship between the rotational circumferential speed and the water particle velocity of the water turbine installed in a wave field tends to be different from that in a flow field and is evaluated by different equations. In addition, the relationship between circumferential velocity and the water particle velocity has also been formulated when installed in a wave-current coexistence field.Recorded Presentation from the vICCE (YouTube Link): https://youtu.be/KX0XBFuao48

The mathematical model of grid-connected wave power generation system based on modular multilevel converter (MMC) is deduced with topology structure and the operation principle of the MMC analyzed in this paper. Then the corresponding current decoupling control strategy is obtained in dq coordinates. Simultaneously, averaging voltage control and voltage balancing control are used to control the MMC to solve the imbalance and the ripple of the capacitor voltage of sub-modules. Moreover, the double closed-loop control strategy is used to control the grid-side MMC. Finally, the simulation model of grid-connected wave power generation system based on MMC is built in Matlab/Simulink. The simulation is carried out to verify the effectiveness and feasibility of the proposed control strategy.
