The aim of this research is to examine the effect of psychological well-being, psychological help-seeking attitudes and self-esteem on  psychological counselor candidates’ psychological symptoms. A total of 439 students of Psychological Counseling and Guidance Department in the Faculty of Educational Sciences from two universities participated in the research. Research data were obtained by using Psychological Well-Being Scale, Psychological Help-Seeking Attitudes Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale and Brief Symptom Inventory.  In the research, LISRELL program-Structural Equation Model and SPSS 20 software were employed. In analyses, it was concluded that results of confirmatory factor analysis results and fit indices of structural equation model were generally acceptable. Accordingly, it has been verified with the structural equation model that psychological counselor candidates’ levels of psychological well-being, psychological help-seeking attitudes and psychological symptoms have effect on their level of psychological symptoms. In this respect, it can be understood that considering counseling students’ levels of psychological well-being and self-esteem is important during their educational processes. By supporting counselor candidates’ mental health, a significant contribution will be provided to their personal and professional developments. ÖzetBu araştırmanın amacı, psikolojik danışman adaylarının psikolojik iyi oluşu, psikolojik yardım arama tutumu ve benlik saygısının onların psikolojik belirti düzeylerine etkisinin incelenmesidir. Araştırmaya iki farklı üniversitenin Eğitim Fakültesi Psikolojik Danışmanlık ve Rehberlik bölümünde öğrenim gören 439 danışman adayı katılmıştır. Araştırmanın verileri Psikolojik İyi Oluş Ölçeği, Psikolojik Yardım Almaya İlişkin Tutum Ölçeği,  Rosenberg Benlik Saygısı Ölçeği ve Kısa Semptom Envanteri ile elde edilmiştir.  Araştırma model geliştirme ve model test etmeye yönelik olup, LİSRELL programı-Yapısal Eşitlik modeli kullanılmıştır. Yapılan analizlerde, doğrulayıcı faktör analizi sonuçlarının ve yapısal eşitlik modeli uyum indekslerinin genel olarak kabul edilebilir düzeyde olduğu belirlenmiştir. Buna göre psikolojik danışman adaylarının psikolojik iyi oluşu, psikolojik yardım arama tutumu ve benlik saygılarının psikolojik belirti düzeyleri üzerinde etkisi olduğu hipotezi doğrulanmıştır. Bu doğrultuda, danışmanlık öğrencilerinin öğretim süreçleri devam ederken psikolojik belirtilerinin incelenmesi, ihtiyaç duyan öğrencilere psikolojik yardım sağlanması ve ruh sağlığının desteklenmesi ile onların profesyonel gelişimlerine de önemli katkı sağlanacağı düşünülmektedir.

Background: The evaluative nature of high performance (HP) sport fosters performance expectations that can be associated with harsh scrutiny, criticism, and job insecurity. In this context, (HP) sport is described as a highly competitive, complex, and turbulent work environment. The aim of this longitudinal, quantitative study was to explore whether HP coaches’ perceptions of job insecurity and job value incongruence in relation to work would predict their psychological well- and ill-being over time. Methods: HP coaches (n = 299) responded to an electronic questionnaire at the start, middle, and end of a competitive season, designed to measure the following: job insecurity, values, psychological well-being (vitality and satisfaction with work), and psychological ill-being (exhaustion and cynicism). Structural equation model analyses were conducted using Mplus. Results: Experiencing higher levels of job insecurity during the middle of the season significantly predicted an increase in coaches’ psychological ill-being, and a decrease in their psychological well-being at the end of the season. However, value incongruence did not have a significant longitudinal impact. Conclusions: These findings cumulatively indicate that coaches’ perceptions of job insecurity matter to their psychological health at work. Consequently, it is recommended that coaches and organizations acknowledge and discuss how to handle job security within the HP sport context.

Background: This study aimed to identify the association between occupational stress and depression-well-being by proposing a comprehensive and flexible job burden-capital model with its corresponding hypotheses. Methods: For this research, 1618 valid samples were gathered from the electronic manufacturing service industry in Hunan Province, China; self-rated questionnaires were administered to participants for data collection after obtaining their written consent. The proposed model was fitted and tested through structural equation model analysis. Results: Single-factor correlation analysis results indicated that coefficients between all items and dimensions had statistical significance. The final model demonstrated satisfactory global goodness of fit (CMIN/DF=5.37, AGFI=0.915, NNFI=0.945, IFI=0.952, RMSEA=0.052). Both the measurement and structural models showed acceptable path loadings. Job burden and capital were directly associated with depression and well-being or indirectly related to them through personality. Multi-group structural equation model analyses indicated general applicability of the proposed model to basic features of such a population. Gender, marriage and education led to differences in the relation between occupational stress and health outcomes. Conclusions: The job burden-capital model of occupational stress-depression and well-being was found to be more systematic and comprehensive than previous models.
