We report on output characteristics of the intracavity optical parametric oscillator at the degenerate wavelength of 2.128 μm based on 1-mm-thick PPLN pumped with 1064-nm pulses of a cw-diode-pumped, acousto-optically Q-switched Nd:YAG laser at 10 kHz repetition rate. A stable and high average output power as high as 6 W with a good beam quality of circular shape was attained without photorefractive damage at the crystal temperature of 143°C. We also observed pump-clamping effect with a singly resonant intracavity length of 5 cm and a pump pulse of 70-ns duration.
