A superalgebra extracted from the Jordan algebra of the 27 and 27 dim. representations of the group E6 is shown to be relevant to the description of the quark-antidiquark system. A bilocal baryon-meson field is constructed from two quark-antiquark fields. In the local approximation the hadron field is shown to exhibit supersymmetry which is then extended to hadronic mother trajectories and inclusion of multiquark states. Solving the spin-free Hamiltonian with light quark masses we develop a new kind of special function theory generalizing all existing mathematical theories of confluent hypergeometric type. The solution produces extra “hidden” quantum numbers relevant for description of supersymmetry and for generating new mass formulas.

Brownian motion subject to a quadratic killing rate and its connection with the Weibull distribution is analyzed. The distribution obtained for the process killing time significantly generalizes the Weibull. The derivation involves the use of the Karhunen–Loève expansion for Brownian motion, special function theory, and the calculus of residues.

Abstract Elastic scattering amplitudes for I = 0 DK and I = 0, 1 $$ D\overline{K} $$ D K ¯ are computed in S, P and D partial waves using lattice QCD with light-quark masses corresponding to mπ = 239 MeV and mπ = 391 MeV. The S-waves contain interesting features including a near-threshold JP = 0+ bound state in I = 0 DK, corresponding to the $$ {D}_{s0}^{\ast } $$ D s 0 ∗ (2317), with an effect that is clearly visible above threshold, and suggestions of a 0+ virtual bound state in I = 0 $$ D\overline{K} $$ D K ¯ . The S-wave I = 1 $$ D\overline{K} $$ D K ¯ amplitude is found to be weakly repulsive. The computed finite-volume spectra also contain a deeply-bound D* vector resonance, but negligibly small P -wave DK interactions are observed in the energy region considered; the P and D-wave $$ D\overline{K} $$ D K ¯ amplitudes are also small. There is some evidence of 1+ and 2+ resonances in I = 0 DK at higher energies.

Several new findings in the four, five and six quark systems reheat the interest in the field of multiquark states (beyond the trivial [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text]). A lot of progress has recently been made in the 6q sector, on both the theoretical and experimental side. A resonance like structure observed in double-pionic fusion to the deuteron, at M = 2.38 GeV with [Formula: see text] = 70 MeV and [Formula: see text] has been consistently observed in a wealth of reaction channels, supporting the existence of a resonant dibaryon state - the [Formula: see text]. These studies include measurement of all the principle strong decay channels in pn collisions in the quasifree mode by the WASA-at-COSY and HADES collaborations. The internal structure of the [Formula: see text] is largely unknown. It can contain various ”hidden color” 6q configurations, [Formula: see text] molecular states with angular momentum L = 0,2,4,6 as well as meson-assisted dressed dibaryon structures. The large set of experimental data obtained to date gives some constraints on the internal structure of the [Formula: see text] dibaryon, but does not settle the issue. The [Formula: see text] is the only multiquark state which can be produced copiously at current facilities, offering unique access to information beyond its basic quantum numbers, particularly its physical size and internal structure.

A summary of the extraction of light quark masses from both QCD sumrules and lattice QCD simulations is presented. The focus is on providing a careful statement of the potential weaknesses in each calculation, and on integrating the work of different collaborations to provide a coherent picture.
