Accessory splenic arteries in the gastrosplenic ligament constitute one of the extremely sub-component of abdominal vasculature variations and it is imperative to recognize this anomaly while planning for complex surgeries in the supra-colic compartment. We report the case of accessory splenic arteries in an approximately 50-year-old male cadaver encountered during routine educational dissection. One of them arising from left gastroepiploic artery supplies the spleen in addition to splenic artery. Another variant vessel bifurcated to enter greater omentum and anterior pole of spleen, as discrete branches. The anatomical vascular variation, if recognized during the imaging work-ups for elective surgical procedures could avoid potential iatrogenic blood loss.

AbstractThe Vertebral artery is the first branch of subclavian artery. It is an important source of blood supply to the brain. During dissection of an adult male cadaver, a unilateral variation in the course of Vertebral artery was found. The right Vertebral artery took origin from the subclavian artery and entered foramen transversarium of fourth cervical vertebra. An understanding of the variability of the Vertebral artery remains most important in angiography & surgical procedures where an incomplete knowledge of its anatomy can lead to complications.

AbstractVariations in the branching pattern of axillary artery have been observed quite frequently. In a male cadaver aged around 45 years allotted for undergraduate dissection a communicating artery between axillary and radial artery was found on the right side during routine dissection. Such arterial variations are important for clinicians in angiographic examinations, removes ambiguity during diagnostic interventions and surgical procedures. Thereby it ensures competency and reduces complications in cardiac catheterization, pedicle flaps, arterial grafting etc.

Cavernous hemangiomas are benign tumours of mesodermal origin. Even though various localizations of hemangioma have been described in the literature, its occurrence in the greater omentum is very rare. Only symptomatic hemangiomas are indicated for surgical treatment. There are case reports presenting resection or surgical removal of the greater omentum with hemangioma because of mechanical syndrome, consumption coagulopathy, bleeding, infection or suspicion of a malignancy. This article presents a case report of a patient operated on for a suspicion of carcinomatosis of the greater omentum. Histological examination found hemangiomatosis in the resected greater omentum.

Brachial plexus is the plexus of nerves, that supplies the upper limb.Variations in the branches of brachial plexus are common but variations in the roots and trunks are very rare. Here, we report one of the such rare variations in the formations of the lower trunk of the brachial plexus in the right upper limb of a male cadaver. In the present case the lower trunk was formed by the union of ventral rami of C7,C8 and T1 nerve roots. The middle trunk was absent. Upper trunk formation was normal.
