Cavernous hemangiomas are benign tumours of mesodermal origin. Even though various localizations of hemangioma have been described in the literature, its occurrence in the greater omentum is very rare. Only symptomatic hemangiomas are indicated for surgical treatment. There are case reports presenting resection or surgical removal of the greater omentum with hemangioma because of mechanical syndrome, consumption coagulopathy, bleeding, infection or suspicion of a malignancy. This article presents a case report of a patient operated on for a suspicion of carcinomatosis of the greater omentum. Histological examination found hemangiomatosis in the resected greater omentum.

Embryonal tumor with abundant neuropil and true rosettes (ETANTR) is rarely seen in the brainstem, and there are few case reports of brainstem ETANTR in the literature. Accordingly, the characteristics and the role of surgical treatment of this rare entity remain unclear. The authors present a case of brainstem ETANTR involving a 33-month-old boy along with a review of the literature and discuss the role of surgical removal in the treatment of this entity. In the authors’ case, the tumor was surgically treated with subtotal resection, which resulted in improvement of the patient’s preoperative symptoms. Chemotherapy was initiated but did not appear to be effective, radiotherapy was declined, and the boy died 6 months after the operation. Based on their analysis of 10 previously reported cases and their own case, the authors conclude that, with respect to survival, surgery may be beneficial even in cases of ETANTR in the brainstem. They note, however, that further studies with a large number of cases are needed to validate the role of surgical treatment in brainstem ETANTR.

Introduction: Lichen planus is an inflammatory mucocutaneous dermatosis involving skin, appendages and mucosa. Oral mucosa is the most commonly involved in all its sites, rarely the lips especially when isolated. The aim was to conduct a literature review about isolated lichen planus of the lips and reporting two case reports of this lesion in order to highlight epidemiologic, clinical and histological features and therapeutic modalities of this lesion. Observations: Case report 1: a 34-year-old diabetic male patient consulted for an erosive, crusted and hemorrhagic cheilitis of the lower lip. Clinical and histological examination led to the diagnosis of isolated lichen planus of the lips. Case report 2: a 33-year-old female patient was referred from dermatology department for biopsy of chronic cheilitis of the lower lip. Clinical and histological examination confirmed the diagnosis of isolated lichen planus of the lips. Discussion: The review based on 34 case reports of isolated lichen planus of the lips, in addition to literature data confirmed that it is a benign rare lesion affecting mostly male patients having middle age with preponderance of the lower lip, its erosive form is the most frequent and it presents a favorable healing with topical treatment particularly corticosteroids.

Background: Nonunion and pseudoarthrosis formation following scapular spine fracture is a rare condition and is limited only to case reports. Some authors reported its association with rotator cuff impingement. Standard treatment is not defined well as the condition is rare. Case Report: Our patient was a 61-year-old man with painful nonunion in addition to cuff impingement. Surgical treatment by open reduction, internal fixation with reconstruction plate and tension band wiring, along with bone grafting led to fracture union, as well as complete resolution of the rotator cuff tendinopathy. Conclusion: Surgical fixation seems to be the best choice in treating scapular spine pseudoarthrosis. The first attempt should be the best, so we took an aggressive approach by the use of plating, tension band wiring, and bone grafting altogether.

The aim of this presentation is to show the high informative value of ultrasonography as the first method of choice in the diagnosis of atypical extra-hepatic forms of echoconcosis. Echinococcosis is zooanthroponosis and is most commonly caused by the larval form of E. granulosus. Echinococcal cysts develop, most commonly in the human liver and second - in the lung. Rare primary localization is echinococcus cysts of greater omentum and spleen. Ultrasonography is first method of ch?ice for diagnostic. The main clinical and laboratory diagnostic methods are immunoelectrophoresis and serological evidence of echinococcosis by ELISA. Timely surgical treatment give it a chance to cure. The use of post-operative antiparasitic chemoprophylaxis and therapy is recommended.

Introduction. Leiomyomas are common benign tumours of female reproductive tract and are rarely seen in extrauterine location.Case Report. We report an interesting case of a free lying abdominal leiomyoma presenting as a painless abdominal lump in an elderly gentleman.Discussion. Benign tumours are exceedingly common neoplastic growth which, similar to malignant tumours, recognize genetic basis. However, benign tumours differ in one essential characteristic: by definition, these neoplasms do not produce metastases. Only some types are at risk of progression into a malignant lesion. Complete surgical removal is always curative. Because of their non-aggressive ‘benign’ nature and, in many cases, easy, straightforward possibility of surgical treatment, the biology of these tumours has not received much attention as compared to that of the malignant neoplasms. However, several studies have recently started to unveil the involvement of mechanisms overlapping with those of the malignant lesions, raising the issue that, by ignoring the biology of benign tumours, we are perhaps missing information vital for understanding malignancies. Only a few types have been subjects of studies comparable to that we can found in malignancy and therefore their biology is still largely unknown.

Four hundred and fifty case histories and results of histological studies of patients who underwent surgical treatment with a diagnosis of adenomyosis and uterine fibroids were retrospectively analyzed. Of all the operated patients, the sclerotic type of adenomyosis was detected in three cases according to the histological examination, which was 0.67%. The retrospective analysis allowed us to reveal the clinical, echographic, and histological characteristics of the sclerotic type of adenomyosis in these patients.

Objective: We report two cases of cavernous hemangioma of the temporal bone and review the relevant literature. Design: Retrospective report of two cases and review of the English literature concerning cavernous hemangiomas of the ear via PubMed. Results: A 46-year-old male was found to have a large external auditory canal vascular mass. Excision of mass with endaural approach was taken and diagnosis was confirmed with histopathology. Also, a 35-yearold female was found to have an internal auditory canal vascular mass. Retrosigmoid craniotomy was performed for resection and diagnosis was confirmed with histopathology. Less than 120 case reports of cavernous hemangiomas of the ear were identified and analyzed. Conclusion: Cavernous hemangiomas of the ear are rare vascular tumors of the head and neck that can cause symptoms requiring histopathological diagnosis and surgical treatment.

We present a review of the literature and own case report of prenatal diagnosis of epignatus at 31 week of gestation. Ultrasound of the fetus revealed a massive formation of solid structure of the blubber of the mouth. The size of epignatus was 3,0  3,0  2,8 cm, intratumoral blood flow was not determined, the amount of amniotic fluid was normal. With the progression of pregnancy the tumor size has not increased. After the birth the neonate was an independent breath. Carried out surgical treatment with a positive effect. The diagnosis of epignatus confirmed by histological examination.
