In this note, we will offer a simple algebraic approach to replace his differential calculus skill to find the optimal solution under the expected annual cost minimization.

This paper discusses an Economic Production Quantity model for Weibull deteriorating items over an infinite time horizon under fuzzy environment. Fuzziness is introduced by allowing the cost components such as setup cost, production cost, holding cost, shortage cost and opportunity cost due to lost sales to certain extent. Triangular fuzzy numbers are used to represent the mentioned costs. Optimum policies of the described models under fuzzy costs are derived. The proposed model can be extended in several ways. For instance, the deterministic demand function to stochastic fluctuating demand patterns could be considered. The model could also be generalized to allow for quantity discounts, as well as permissible delay in payments.

A single item, single cycle economic production quantity model for perishable products is proposed where the demand is two-component and stock dependent. The production inventory scenario of products like cake, bread, fast foods, fishes, garments, cosmetics etc in the festival season is considered. The profit function is formulated under the assumption that the time period of the festival seasons is fixed and the display capacity of the produced item is limited. In the formulation process, to introduce more flexibility, a goal programming technique is incorporated to achieve the producer's desired profit and stock of as much inventory as possible below the display capacity level. A numerical example is presented to illustrate the proposed model. A sensitivity analysis of the model is also carried out.

AbstractInventory are assets of a company. If the inventory control of a company is not good then the company will incur a loss, if a company's inventory control both the Performance Management will benefit. Inventory control is one of them can be done by looking at inventory turnover (ITO). Since inventory is a very important thing to do design a model that can be used as an alternative to using the approach Economic Production Quantity (EPQ). Inventory control can be done in a way determine the number of requests a year to do the calculations for the current conditions in the ITO. then performed 12 period ahead forecasting using linear, quadratic, exponential, cyclical, and cyclical trends, the Standard Error of Estimate (SEE) the smallest of each method obtained the number of requests made after that period 12 calculations Economic Production Quantity (EPQ ) to get the optimum amount of inventory as well as ITO calculations performed for the optimum amount of inventory.Based on calculations obtained ITO current state of the low of 0.010, while the ITO using EPQ is 0.230. Concluded that the inventory control for coal by using the method of generating EPQ inventory turnover is better than the methods currently used by the company.Keywords: Inventory, EPQ,ITO

Perencanaan produksi dan penyediaan bahan baku merupakan dua hal yang berkaitan. Banyaknya bahan baku yang tersedia ditentukan oleh jumlah produk yang akan dibuat pada suatu periode tertentu. Bahan baku merupakan salah satu dari beberapa faktor produksi utama untuk menjamin terlaksananya kegiatan produksi pada suatu perusahaan dengan baik. Ketepatan persediaan kebutuhan akan bahan baku di suatu perusahaan sangatlah penting, karena apabila persediaan kebutuhan akan bahan baku tersebut kurang ataupun habis, akan menghambat bahkan dapat menghentikan kegiatan produksi pada suatu perusahaan. Namun di sisi lain, persediaan yang banyak juga akan menambah biaya penyimpanan dan pemeliharaan yang berdampak pada tingginya harga produk yang dihasilkan walaupun dapat menjamin kelancaran produksi. Karena itu, perlu diadakan suatu kegiatan perencanaan kebutuhan material yang bertujuan untuk menjamin tersedianya bahan baku pada saat dibutuhkan oleh Rivan Garment sesuai dengan jadwal produksi yang telah ditetapkan, sehingga tidak terjadi kekurangan bahan baku dan biayanya minimal. Penggunaan metode Economic Production Quantity (EPQ) ini dibutuhkan untuk mengetahui kebutuhan persediaan yang optimal dalam satu periode  dalam suatu perusahaan dinilai  efektif untuk mengatasi permasalahan persediaan bahan baku. Metode EPQ ini akan diaplikasikan dengan membuat program yang akan membantu perusahaan dalam pengoptimalan persediaan yang ada. Dengan adanya program ini pihak perusahaan dapat dengan mudah menentukan berapa jumlah bahan baku yang akan disediakan dan dapat meminimalkan biaya persediaan yang akan dikeluarkan.
