Cellulitis of the retroperitoneal tissue is a rare complication of destructive tuberculosis of the kidney. The clinical picture of the disease is characterized by the absence of characteristic symptoms, which causes certain difficulties in determining the tactics and timeliness of surgical treatment. A clinical case of newly diagnosed cavernous renal tuberculosis complicated by phlegmonous tissue of the retroperitoneal space in an elderly patient with severe comorbid pathology is presented.

AbstractThe authors present a clinical case of a 44-year-old male patient with a chronic giant aortic arch pseudoaneurysm with a diameter of 136 × 72 mm. The open resection of false aneurysm was accomplished without artificial circulation. Repair was performed with temporary ascending-to-descending and brachiocephalic bypass without cardiopulmonary bypass.

Persistent fifth aortic arch (PFAA) is a rare anomaly often associated with aortic coarctation or interruption, and various surgical techniques for this anomaly have been reported. Herein, we show a case of an infant with PFAA and severe aortic coarctation. The aortic arch was reconstructed using end-to-side anastomosis between the fifth aortic arch and the descending aorta without any artificial conduit or patching material. This approach is easy and effective, has growth potential, and an additional surgery is not needed in the future.

A case of lung damage in systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) in a 33-year-old woman is described. This case is of clinical interest due to the complexity of diagnosis due to the fact that SLE is a disease with diverse clinical manifestations involving many organs and systems, which often makes it difficult to timely recognize the onset of the disease. SLE still remains a challenge and requires special attention to the patient s history, clinical and laboratory parameters of the patient, as well as specific immunological examinations.

A clinical case of successful surgical treatment of a patient with a giant cervical retrosternal nontoxic goiter with severe cardiac pathology is presented. Thyroidectomy from cervical access without sternotomy was performed. At the follow-up examination 5 months after the operation, instrumental and clinical signs of disease relapse were not detected.
