AbstractThe authors present a clinical case of a 44-year-old male patient with a chronic giant aortic arch pseudoaneurysm with a diameter of 136 × 72 mm. The open resection of false aneurysm was accomplished without artificial circulation. Repair was performed with temporary ascending-to-descending and brachiocephalic bypass without cardiopulmonary bypass.

Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is a rare superficial tumor characterized by high rates of local recurrence and low risk of metastasis. Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans occurs most commonly on the trunk and proximal extremities, it affects all races, and often develops between the second and the fifth decade of life. The tumor grows slowly, typically over years. We present a rare case of a young male patient, 21 years old, with an asymptomatic calf tumor which was suspected to be an angioma, but after the initial excision histology and imunohistochemistry proved to be a Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans without safety limits. After 2 weeks, we excised the remaining scar with 4 cm tissue limit and the defect was covered using an adipofascial reversed sural flap from the posterior part of the left calf and after another 2 weeks we applied a skin graft from the thigh. The patient had a good evolution, with full recovery, without local recurrences or metastasis, and the histology was within good safety limits.

Morton's neuroma is a common condition that mainly affects middle-aged women, and many articles have addressed the surgical treatment of this condition. Previous reports have described bilateral neuroma excision in women but not in men. We report a rare case of bilateral neuromas in a male patient treated with simultaneous neurectomy.

We report a rare case of giant prostatic hyperplasia in an 80-year-old male patient. MRI revealed a markedly enlarged prostate measuring 814gm.We have performed suprapubic open prostatectomy (Transvesical). The adenoma was completely enucleated in one piece which was 11cm×16cm in size and weighed 504gm.

Osteomyelitis of skull belongs to the rare necrotic infections of bones. Its distribution is about1.5% from osteomyelitis of the flat bones. During last 10 years in Russian neuro-surgical literature are no data covering this issue. Foreign publications review observations about single cases. This work describes clinical case of successful surgical treatment of frontal bone osteomyelitis, complicated by abscess in forehead part of brain.

Patellar fractures, which constitute approximately 1% of bone lesions, may lead to severe impairment of the extensor mechanism. When conservative or surgical treatment fails, the patella may develop pseudoarthrosis. Neglect or delayed treatment of this type of injury may lead to significant diastasis between the patellar fragments. There is no consensus regarding the best treatment for such cases. This study is aimed at describing a rare case of patellar pseudoarthrosis in a patient who underwent two-step surgical treatment comprising transskeletal patellar traction followed by osteosynthesis with a tension band. A 17-year-old male patient presented with a left patellar fracture that resulted from a fall from a standing height 8 years ago. He did not undergo any type of surgical treatment during that time, but the fracture was immobilized for only 2 weeks. The two-step surgical treatment with transskeletal patellar traction and patellar osteosynthesis was performed and provided satisfactory functional clinical results in this patient. This two-step surgical treatment can be performed in cases similar to ours with satisfactory results.

The round ligament of the liver is one of the peritoneal folds running from the umbilical foramen to the anterior part of the left sagittal longitudinal sulcus of the liver. Acute inflammation of the round ligament of the liver is a rather rare disease. The clinical picture of the disease has no specific signs. This article presents a rare case of ultrasound diagnostics of primary isolated inflammation of the round ligament of the liver in a patient admitted to the hospital with a clinical picture of "acute abdomen". Ultrasound signs of inflammation of the round ligament of the liver were determined. Early diagnosis of inflammation of the round ligament of the liver allows preventing the development of complications and, as a result, surgical treatment.
