In 2005 in sublittoral zone of Koryak coast 79 species of amphipods belonged to 43 genera, 20 families and two suborders are revealed. The main part of the fauna was endemics of Pacific boreal area. The biomass varied from the several 100-th shares of gram to 15.6 g/m2. The maximum biomass of amphipods at population density 230 ind./m2 was registered at Cape Hajtyrka. The average biomass was 2.0 ± 0.6 g/m2 or 0.4% from the total biomass of a benthos. In places of amphipods accumulations their part in the total biomass of a benthos could reach 56.9%. Quantity indicators of amphipods on a shelf of Koryak coast above, than in Anadyr Bay. In different places of the investigated water area dominating species was different (Atylus bruggeni, Pontogeneia rostrata, Anisogammarus pugettensis, Caprella paulina). Rigid soil are extended on main parts of water area of narrow geosynclinal shelf of Koryak coast, mobile filter feeder, building small houses-tubes in thickness of a soil (Byblis erythrops, Ampelisca macrocephala and some other) had here no such wide development as in of Anadyr Bay. The shelf of Koryak coast distinguishes from the other areas of the Far East seas by small species wealth of amphipods at the stations – basically no more than five species.

The lichen diversity of the Cape Goven within the Koryak State Reserve counts 394 species: 373 lichens, 18 lichenicolous fungi and 3 non-lichenized saprobic fungi related to lichens. Altogether 4 species are new to Russia (Miriquidica pulvinatula, Myriolecis andrewii, Ochrolechia alaskana, Rhizocarpon sublavatum), 1 – to Asiatic Russia (Collemopsidium foveolatum), 29 other species are new to the Russian Far East, 4 – to the northern part of the Far East. Additionally, 51 other species are new to Kamchatka Territory, and 92 more are new to Koryakia. Among the new species to Russia or Russian Far East, 11 are also reported for the first time for Beringia. A total of 500 species of lichens and allied fungi are known from Koryakia now. The richest habitats in Cape Goven are rocky outcrops and tundras; unlike in the earlier explored Parapolsky Dale, shrublands, floodplain stands and bogs play relatively insignificant role in the lichen diversity. The lichens of seashore communities enrich the lichen flora of Cape Goven compared to inland areas. The lichen diversity of Cape Goven is significantly higher than in Parapolsky Dale due to its mountainous landscape and coastal position.

The paper investigates cross-cultural differences across Russian regions using the methodology of G. Hofstede. First, it discusses the most common approaches in measuring culture and the application of the Hofstede methodology in subnational studies. It identifies the critical issues in measuring culture at the regional level and suggests several strategies to address them. Secondly, the paper introduces subregional data on individualism and uncertainty avoidance using a survey of students across 27 Russian universities. The data allow to establish geographical patterns of individualism in Russia. It is demonstrated that collectivism is most prevalent in the Volga region, while individualism characteristic becomes stronger towards the Far East. The findings are robust to the inclusion of various controls and different specifications of the regression model. Finally, the paper provides a discussion about the potential of applying the sociocultural approach in economics.
