It includes the type species, A. peruanus Hustache, and two new species, A. dominicae Anderson, sp. n, from the West Indies (Dominica) and A. ashei Anderson, sp. n., from Venezuela. All species are likely associated with palms. A key to the three species is provided, along with illustrations of the species and summaries of their natural history and distribution.

The present paper contains descriptions of two new species and one new genus: Latinopsis patagonica gen. nov., sp. nov., and Candona quasiincarum sp. nov. Both species were collected during a two-month Franco-Chilean expedition to Madre de Dios archipelago in January and February 2006. The following new systematic arrangements are proposed: L. anisitsi (Daday, 1905) comb. nov., L. columbiensis (Mehes, 1914) comb. nov., and L. falclandica (Vavra, 1898) comb. nov. Latinopsis anisitsi is redescribed from the type material and a lectotype is designated. Two species are excluded from the subfamily Candoninae, one of which is Danielocandona albida (Sars, 1901). After examination of the type material the species is reclassified as Neocypridopsis albida (Sars, 1901) comb. nov. A checklist of the known species of Candoninae of South America and the West Indies is provided.

AbstractChrysocharis caribea sp. n., a parasite of agromyzid leaf miners, mainly of Liriomyza sativae Blanch, in the West Indies, and Emersonella palmae sp. n., parasite of Hispoleptis subfasciata Pic, a hispine leaf miner on oil palms in Colombia, are described. New generic and specific synonymies and new combinations are established in Chrysocharis Förster, Proacrias Ihering (=Didymotropis De Santis syn. n.), Chrysonotomyia Ashmead (=Achrysocharis Girault syn. n.), Teleopterus Silvestri, Pediobius Walker, Emersonella Girault, Euplectrus Westwood, Stenomesius West-wood, Diglyphomorpha Ashmead, Miotropis Thomson, Ardalus Howard and Grotiusomyia Girault. Additional taxonomic comments on Chrysocharodes Ashmead and Astichus Förster and tentative keys to the species of Proacrias and Emersonella are included. Lectotypes are designated for 24 specific names.

The present paper deals exclusively with the species of the family Laophontidae found in samples gathered during several expeditions of the University of Amsterdam to the West Indies. Four new species belonging to different genera are described. Two new species and Laophonte adriatica are assigned to a new genus: Lipomelum n. gen. Furthermore, additional information on seven other laophontids is given.

Examination of a limited number of specimens of Leptoconops occurring in America indicates that at least several undescribed species exist in North and Central America and the West Indies. Paucity of material, however, prevents any detailed study of the group for the regions mentioned. Two members of the genus have, through their biting tendencies, made themselves decidedly obnoxious in the sections where they occur.

The West Indian flea beetle genus Hemilactica Blake, 1937 is reviewed. Two new species, both from the Dominican Republic are described and illustrated: H. erwinisp. nov. and H. sierramatringarciasp. nov. In addition, images of the holotypes of H. portoricensis Blake, H. pulchella Blake, and H. rugosa Blake are provided. Lactica megaspila (Blake) is transferred to Hemilactica. A lectotype of H. quatuordecimpunctata (Suffrian, 1868) is designated and illustrated, and a key to the Hemilactica species and a key for identification of Hemilactica and related genera occurring in the Western Hemisphere are provided.
