Ascending and descending colon normally lie in anterior pararenal space anterior to kidneys. Extension of colon behind kidney is rare. It is more frequently found on the left side behind lower pole of the left kidney. Bilateral retrorenal colon is rare. Its detection is important prior to Retrorenal, Percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) to avoid complications. We report a case of bilateral retrorenal colon detected incidentally in a case of obstructive jaundice.

Adenoid cystic carcinoma (ACC) is a malignancy affecting the salivary glands and rarely involving the lung. Due to its rarity, primary lung ACC remains incompletely understood. We herein report the case of a 57-year-old female patient who was initially diagnosed with primary lung ACC and was treated by lobectomy. Seven years later, an abdominal computed tomography scan performed in the context of surveillance revealed the presence of a solid lesion arising from the lower pole of the left kidney. The patient underwent left partial nephrectomy, and histopathology confirmed a completely excised metastatic ACC.

Intestinal obstruction is an entity commonly encountered by general and colorectal surgeons. Anatomic abnormalities account for only a small fraction of cases of complete or partial obstruction. This case report focuses on a 51-year-old female presenting with acute on chronic large bowel obstruction. Workup revealed an exceedingly rare anatomic abnormality: a medialized descending colon, traveling adjacent to the abdominal aorta, with a transition point and dense bands just distal to the splenic flexure. She underwent exploratory laparotomy with division of the constrictive bands and subsequently experienced near-complete resolution of her chronic obstructive symptoms.
