Obturator type traumatic anterior hip dislocation in adult is rare of all type of hip dislocation. Here we described a case with same description. A patient 30 years male residing at Hoovina Hadagali, Bellary district, Karnataka met road traffic accident of his car while he was sitting in front seat with thigh abducted. He was brought to emergency room where he was diagnosed as obturator type of anterior right hip dislocation and closed reduction was achieved within 2 hours. Patient was posted for closed reduction of right hip under general anaesthesia which achieved by Alli’s maneuver followed by traction and immobilisation with Thomas splint. 3 weeks of immobilisation followed by progressive mobilisation and loading patient was able to walk without any complaint with normal range of movements after 6 months.

Fractures of os trigonum is an extremely rare event. It is one of the accessory ossicles of the foot found in about 7 % of the population. Very few cases have been reported in the literature about a fracture of the ostrigonum. We present a case of fracture of ostrigonum with associated fracture of the fibula and a large lacerated wound in the leg, in a young man sustained due to road traffic accident. The initial radiological examination with Xray ankle showed a doubtful fracture of posterior process of talus but was not clear. The diagnosis was clinched by CT scan of the ankle with 2mm cuts, which showed clearly a fracture of the os trigonum. It was treated by flap cover for the wound and plaster immobilisation for the fracture. So, any doubtful fracture near the posterior process of talus should be fully assessed radiologically with a CT scan to guide in the treatment.

The orbital blowout fracture is most common in its inferior and medial wall; however we are presenting here a rare case of superior orbital wall blowout fracture with intact vision. This is a presentation of a 55 year-old right handed gentleman following road traffic accident had left orbital injury causing orbital roof fracture. Despite of such a huge injury there was no deterioration of his vision and his movements of the eye balls were also absolutely preserved.

AbstractCarotid cavernous fistula (CCF) is a specific type of dural arteriovenous (AV) fistula characterized by abnormal AV shunting within the cavernous sinus. The authors present a case of a 17-year-old young male who encountered a road traffic accident while driving a car, with a history of flipping of cars multiple times. The patient was unconscious with symmetrical bilateral (B/L) pupils and with Glasgow coma scale (GCS) score of 3. There was no history of seizures or vomiting.

Simultaneous ipsilateral floating hip and floating knee are extremely rare. To the best of our knowledge, only four cases have been described in the literature. This uncommon injury is mostly caused by high-velocity impact and associated with life-threatening lesions. We report a unique case of concomitant ipsilateral floating hip and floating knee following road traffic accident. The patient presented ipsilateral hip dislocation and acetabular, femoral, and tibial fractures associated with chest trauma. The aim of this report is to highlight the severity and rarity of this combination and to describe the therapeutic recommendations.

Injuries around the hip joint are one of the most common orthopedic injuries and these types of injuries are grossly debilitating until treated properly. Simultaneous occurrence of fracture of proximal femur with fracture of ipsilateral acetabulum or pelvis is termed as floating hip injury. These injuries are very rare, only to be found 1 in 10,000 as well as there is lack of literature support regarding proper treatment protocol. Here we are going to present a case of fracture of neck of left femur along with fracture of left acetabulum in a 45 years old male undergone road traffic accident.

A road traffic accident is a life-threatening traumatic condition affecting man and animals. A 7- Year-old local bitch weighing 25 kg was presented to the Veterinary Teaching Hospital (VTH), Usmanu Danfodiyo University, Sokoto with the chief complaint of trauma following an automobile accident. At presentation, vital parameters were within normal range but the dog was on sternal recumbency. During clinical examination, there was an audible crepitating sound on rectal palpation. The mammary glands were engorged and ultrasonography revealed pregnancy with presence of viable foetuses. Dorsoventral radiography of the pelvic region revealed fracture of the pelvis and right coxo-femoral luxation. However, the bitch died over-night and was sent for post mortem, which revealed fracture of the right ilium and pubis with severe intra-muscular haemorrhages of the gluteus and quadriceps muscles. There was diaphragmatic hernia along with congested lungs and blood-tinged fluid in the thorax. There was also severe hydroperitoneum, rupture of the left uterine horn and six dead foetuses in-utero. The dog may have died of hypovolemic shock due to the traumatic injury.

Blowout fracture with entrapped orbital contents within the maxillary sinus is common due to the fragility of the inferior wall, but complete herniation of the eye globe is extremely rare and emergent. Dealing with such a case appears to be a real challenge for any ophthalmologist. We herein present a case of a 31-year-old woman with the entire eyeball missing from the orbit following a road traffic accident. Imaging revealed a complete herniation of the globe into the maxillary sinus. The patient underwent surgery for repositioning the herniated orbital contents and reconstructing the orbital walls. The outcome was satisfactory in terms of aesthetic effect, although the patient’s vision could not be restored as it still depends on various factors, especially the survival of ganglion cells after trauma.
