High-quality grass feeds (hay, haylage, silage) decrease cost price, improve consumer properties and increase competitiveness of cattle products significantly being the main component of agricultural export for the Republic of Belarus. An important issue of grass feed procurement is acceleration of mowed grass drying process. Reduction of drying time or drying process acceleration has a positive effect on feed quality. To achieve this goal, technique of laying the mowed grass on stubble, in rolls or spreading, turning and conditioning is applied. Based on practical experience of application and analysis, the relevance of repeated rolling (reconditioning) of mowed grasses in rolls is substantiated. Design and workflow of new device for such grass rolling has been developed. Its working unit is designed as a sawn-deck or roller flatting apparatus. The kinematic parameters of the upper and lower rollers have been determined experimentally: the rollers rotation ratio should make 1.01 m ωв / ωн m 1.03. Field tests of the device with legumes helped to determined that it accelerates drying by 15–20%, reduces protein loss by 10–15% compared to drying with no treatment. The presented research materials present the development of the theory of grass feeds procurement mechanization. Use of the materials in practice will improve the quality of grass feeds by accelerating the mowed grass drying process.

Diagnosis of non-specific aorto-arteritis (NSAA, Takaysu's arteritis) is typically based on clinical and investigational parameters. We report here about two patients with clinically suspected diagnosis of a Takayasu's arteritis already under anti-inflammatory therapy in whom percutaneous transluminal atherectomy of subclavian and axillary artery stenoses was performed to relief the patients from symptoms – intermittent dyspraxia of the arms – and to verify the clinical diagnosis by histology. In the first case aorto-arteritis could be histologically confirmed through the analysis of plaque material including media structures excised from the subclavian and axillary arteries using a new device for atherectomy. The biopsy showed diffuse inflammation and granulomatous lesions with giant cells typically for Takayasu's disease. In the second patient, biopsy showed no acute or chronic inflammatory signs but only atherosclerotic lesions. Percutaneous transluminal atherectomy is therefore not only an interventional but also a diagnostic tool and should be used in every case of interventional therapy of suspected aorto-arteritis to make the clinical diagnosis and as a major consequence the initiation of an aggressive anti-inflammatory medical therapy more reliable.

Coconut frond ash is one of the wastes from coconut trees which has not been maximally utilized. Coconut frond ash contains MgCl2 and KCl so that it can be used as a salt substitute in the process of preserving fish. In this study coconut frond ash was used as a basic ingredient for making dried mackerel with a long time of drying to storage. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of drying time on mackerel storage. The research design used was a Randomized Block Design (RCBD) with 2 factors studied. The first factor is the drying time consists of 3 levels, namely P1 = 3 days, P2 = 4 days, P3 = 5 days. The second factor is storage which consists of 3 levels, namely S1 = 30 days, S2 = 60 days, S3 = 90 days. Each treatment was repeated 2 times to obtain 18 experimental units to observed hedonic tests. From the results of the study it can be stated that the treatment has a very significant effect (P≥0.01) on the hedonic test which includes (color, aroma, taste and texture).
