China’s management of marine ecological environments has experienced a development process that has gone from weak to strong. However, whether there are problems such as lack of systems, invalid systems, and system conflicts in the current management of marine ecological environments, and how to conduct collaborative governance among various complex subjects, remain to be answered. This paper first summarizes how China’s marine ecological environment management policy has evolved, which can be divided into five stages: the foundation stage (1949–1980), the initial establishment stage (1981–1995), the steady advancement stage (1996–2005), the deepening adjustment stage (2006–2010), and the strategic development stage (2011–present), and analyzes its characteristics at different stages. Then, this paper further explores the inherent dilemmas in the Chinese marine ecological environment management system. Finally, combined with the practical experience of marine ecological environment management in developed countries, this paper fully considers the division of responsibilities and mutual checks and balances of different subjects, flexibly configures various policy tools, and explores the mechanism of collaborative governance of marine ecological environment from the levels of government, market, the public and social organizations, so as to gradually improve the modern marine ecological environment management system and provide a reference for the government’s governance activities.

Objective: Dual x-ray absorptiometry (DXA) is gold standard of bone densitometry, but quantitative ultrasound (QUS) of bone is less expensive and portable. This study was designed to assess its usefulness in secondary osteoporosis diagnosis. Materials and Methods: There were 200 secondary osteoporosis cases (rheumatoid arthritis, hemodialysis, kidney transplant patients, and levothyroxine users) and of those, their phalanx QUS results were compared with normal controls. Also, the QUS and DXA results were compared to find any correlation of these methods for diagnosing osteoporosis. Results: There was not significantly different results compared with normal controls, except for those of hemodialysis patients ( P = .00). Also, the comparison of QUS with DXA results showed no significant correlation except in hemodialysis patients, in both spinal and femoral regions ( P = .023 and .21, respectively), as well as the levothyroxine group’s spinal region ( P = .005). Conclusion: These results suggest that QUS of phalanx may be useful in screening secondary osteoporosis but for establishment of diagnosis, DXA measurements are still needed.

Coatings obtained by spraying materials with a high-temperature gas jet onto a substrate followed by thermal treatment of the deposited materials (thermal gas coatings) are increasingly being used. The practical experience of using thermal spray coatings, accumulated over the past 20–30 years in industries, shows that in this way it is possible, as a rule, to reduce the wear of machine parts operating under various conditions by a factor of 2–5. The effectiveness of the technology has also been proven in the protection of products from corrosion and thermal damage. The efficiency of the applied materials is determined by their structure, which largely depends on the choice of the composition of the material, the method, and modes of application. A comprehensive solution to these issues with the study of the mechanism of the processes of formation of thermal gas coatings will create a scientific basis for the technology for its successful implementation in production. At the same time, the importance of studying the processes and optimizing the technological parameters of spraying and subsequent coating treatment increases. Optimization is carried out, as a rule, according to the results of experiments. Let us consider the study on the example of the development of wear-resistant composite coatings with solid lubricant inclusions with the substantiation of the technique and criteria for optimizing technological parameters taking into account the most important properties of sprayed protective coatings.

AbstractThe aim of our paper is to discuss the difficulties non-life actuaries are currently facing from a practical point of view. Based on this, we show that individual claims models are the key to address these difficulties and discuss how such models give actuaries a new and very powerful tool to explore further fields of application. Moreover, we address a very essential question: What data is needed for developing individual claims models? For bodily injury claims in German motor liability insurance, we shall derive specific attributes based on a detailed discussion of the legal background. All our ideas are based on practical experience for a large German motor insurance portfolio.

Theoretical aspects and practical developments in the use of corporate knowledge management technologies are considered. The importance of knowledge management in the company's personnel management system is analyzed. The technology of benchmarking as a source of obtaining new corporate knowledge is highlighted and described. Special attention is paid to HR analytics processes. The use of benchmarking research as a tool for analyzing the field of personnel management is proposed. Approaches to the development of metrics for benchmarking in the field of personnel management of the organization are described. Based on the study of the practical experience of the use of benchmarking research by companies, the need for the organization of storage and effective dissemination of results has been established. Considering that at present corporate knowledge is becoming the most valuable internal product of the organization, the use of modern information technologies is proposed to expand access to corporate knowledge and solve the problems of decentralization of knowledge, duplication and loss of information for decision-making in the field of personnel management.

Objectives: Radiation dose management systems (DMS) are currently to help improve radiation protection in medical imaging and interventions. This study presents our experience using a homemade DMS called DOLQA (Dose On-Line for Quality Assurance). Methods: Our DMS is connected to 14 X-ray systems in a university hospital linked to the central data repository of a large network of 16 public hospitals in the Autonomous Community of Madrid, with 6.7 million inhabitants. The system allows us to manage individual patient dose data and groups of procedures with the same clinical indications, and compare them with diagnostic reference levels (DRLs). The system can also help to prioritize optimisation actions. Results: This study includes results of imaging examinations from 2020, with 3,7601 procedures and 28,6471 radiation events included in the radiation dose structured reports (RDSR), for computed tomography (CT), interventional procedures, positron emission tomography-CT (PET-CT) and mammography. Conclusions: The benefits of the system include: automatic registration and management of patient doses, creation of dose reports for patients, information on recurrent examinations, high dose alerts, and help to define optimisation actions. The system requires the support of medical physicists and implication of radiologists and radiographers. DMSs must undergo periodic quality controls and audit reports must be drawn up and submitted to the hospital’s quality committee. The drawbacks of DMSs include the need for continuous external support (medical physics experts, radiologists, radiographers, technical services of imaging equipment and hospital informatics services) and the need to include data on clinical indication for the imaging procedures. Advances in knowledge: DMS perform automatic management of radiation doses, produces patient dose reports, and registers high dose alerts to suggest optimisation actions. Benefits and limitations are derived from the practical experience in a large university hospital.

The exposure of people living with HIV (PLHIV) to antiretrovirals (ARV) can cause significant adverse effects, contributing to their low adherence to treatment. The pharmacist can contribute to the optimization of PLHIV drug therapy through pharmacotherapeutic monitoring, favoring adherence to ARV therapy and, consequently, suppression of the viral load. The objective of the present study was to develop a pharmacotherapeutic monitoring routine for PLHIV in outpatient follow-up at a medium- and high-complexity hospital in the city of Rio de Janeiro. This is an experimental development project that consists of using knowledge from practical experience and research from the specialized literature to subsidize the structuring of a new service to support PLHIV. The work was divided into three parts: development of the necessary instruments for pharmaceutical care, elaboration of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for patient care, and testing of routines and work tools. The educational leaflets for patients and information boards were developed through a literature search, whereas the pharmaceutical documentation instruments and SOP were developed through adaptations of the Dáder Method. All work instruments were subjected to a test to evaluate the need for changes to improve the service.

AbstractThe national policy of bilingual education will inevitably entail a demand for content and language integrated learning (CLIL) teachers. Consequently, feasible and sustainable CLIL teacher education in Taiwan will be required. This study explored a teaching capability maturity model for CLIL teachers based on the level of maturity of teachers’ teaching capabilities. The modified Delphi method and fuzzy analytic hierarchy process were used. Purposive sampling was employed to recruit 33 interdisciplinary professional CLIL teachers. The three most important levels in the model were the basic course management, advanced course management and implementation, and initial levels. Implications of the results are discussed and suggestions for CLIL teacher education are proposed, such as emphasising the development of course management capabilities and providing teachers with practical experience in teaching content subjects.
