This chapter presents George Boole's lecture on the discoveries of Sir Isaac Newton. The first subject of importance that engaged Newton's attention was the phenomena of prismatic colors. The results of his inquiries were communicated to the Royal Society in the year 1675, and afterwards published with most important additions in 1704. The production was entitled “Optics; or, a Treatise on the Reflections, Refractions, Inflections, and Colours of Light.” It is considered one of the most elaborate and original of his works, and carries on every page the traces of a powerful and comprehensive mind. Newton also discovered universal gravitation, which was announced to the world in 1687 through the publication of the “Principia, or Mathematical Principles of Natural Philosophy.” The object of the “Principia” is twofold: to demonstrate the law of planetary influence, and to apply that law to the purposes of calculation.

The article discusses the possibility of using the results of some Sciences (in this case, the Law of universal gravitation) in the study of other Sciences. The Law of universal gravitation, which is one of the most important laws of nature, is described. The interaction of economic entities from the standpoint of the Law of universal gravitation is considered. The features of interaction between sellers and buyers are studied. It established that the fundamental reason for the attraction of economic entities is the need to meet their needs. The process of meeting the needs of an economic entity is described. The following concepts are introduced: inertial mass (mass of stability) of an economic subject, gravitational mass (mass of attraction) of an economic subject. The features of these indicators are studied. The analysis of changes in the forces of attraction between economic entities in the process of their interaction are carried out. The law of attraction of two economic entities is formulated.

The first attempted derivation by Galileo of the law relating space and time in free fall that has survived is preserved on an otherwise unidentified sheet bound among his manuscripts preserved at Florence. It is undoubtedly closely associated with a letter from Galileo to Paolo Sarpi, dated 16 October 1604, which somehow found its way into the Seminary of Pisa, where it is still preserved. Those two documents, together with the letter from Sarpi to Galileo which seems to have inspired them, are translated in full below. Sarpi's letter, dated 9 October 1604, suggests that recent oral discussions of problems of motion had recently taken place between the two men. It reads as follows:“In sending you the enclosure, it occurs to me to propose to you a problem to resolve, and another that seems to me paradoxical.
