Abstract Background: Brachiocephalic vein tumor is a rare vascular malformation, which is often reported in case reports. At present it has attracted much attention due to the serious complications, such as vein tumor rupture, pulmonary embolism, venous thrombosis, etc. We report a case of left brachiocephalic vein tumor with compression symptoms.Case presentation: a 52-year-old male who was admitted to our hospital with irritating cough for more than one month. Chest contrast-enhanced CT showed a localized expansion of 5.2cm in diameter of the left brachiocephalic vein in the anterior mediastinum. The patient received venous angioplasty with brachiocephalic vein tumor resection, and the postoperative recovery was well. Conclusion: Surgical operation is an effecive treatment method for brachiocephalic vein tumor, but it is still necessary to choose the appropriate way according to the type, size, location, lesion scope and complications of the vein tumor.

Abstract Background Aneurysm of the left brachiocephalic vein is a very rare clinical disease and only 40 cases have been reported so far. Case presentation The patient was a 61-year-old woman with no related medical history. She underwent CT to investigate the cause of a cough and a mass was noted in the anterior mediastinum. Dynamic computed tomography with contrast medium injected into the left basilic vein demonstrated the venous aneurysm with blood flow to the left brachiocephalic vein. The patient had no symptoms, but because of the risk of pulmonary infarction and aneurysm rupture, the aneurysm was surgically resected. A median sternotomy was a reasonable approach because of the fragility of the venous aneurysm wall with little working space in the anterior mediastinum. Conclusions We diagnosed an aneurysm of the left brachiocephalic vein on preoperative imaging and excised it through a median sternotomy. The venous wall was thin and fragile in some areas and so this approach was appropriate in view of the possibility of intraoperative injury.

Abstract Background A double left brachiocephalic vein is an extremely rare venous anomaly. Case presentation Herein, we present the case of a 79-year-old woman with a double left brachiocephalic vein who underwent cardiac surgical procedures. The normal left brachiocephalic vein was patent, and the accessory left brachiocephalic vein passed across the heart and aorta in front of the pericardium and drained into the superior vena cava. She underwent surgical ligation of the accessory left brachiocephalic vein, followed by an aortic valve replacement and coronary artery bypass grafting. Her postoperative recovery was uneventful, without any venous complications from the ligation of the accessory vein. The patient is doing well one year after the surgery. Conclusions The presence of double left brachiocephalic veins should be recognized before cardiac surgery in order for us to avoid intraoperative technical issues concerning this venous anomaly and unpredictable intraoperative bleeding due to injury of the accessory left brachiocephalic vein.

Previous studies have shown that microsurgery has two main roles in glioma resection, that is, the nerve function is well protected and the degree of tumor resection is improved. On the basis of this experiment, the curative effect of tumor resection under microscope for glioma was studied based on humanized nursing model. By randomly dividing 64 patients into two steps and comparing them in many aspects, the study mainly obtained two inspirations: microglioma resection has good effect, and humanized nursing mode has good effect on postoperative recovery. Finally, some Suggestions and principles for microglioma resection were put forward: the principle of timely operation after diagnosis, the principle of complete resection for nonfunctional areas, the principle of protection for important functional areas, and the principle of recovery plan confirmed by disease examination after surgery. In addition, in terms of the influence of humanized nursing mode on the treatment of glioma under the microscope, the data statistics and SPSS tests show that humanized nursing mode can effectively improve the satisfaction of patients and their families. Relieve anxiety and depression and help patients recover; Lower scores in pain rating statistics, etc. In addition, this experiment has a good basis for development, and all the 64 patients successfully completed the operation without serious complications, which further verified the above conclusions, namely, the maturity and reliability of the technique of microscopic tumor resection for glioma. The technique of tumor resection under microscope can be used in combination with humanized nursing mode, which has good promotion value.
