Abstract We consider light neutralinos of mass about 1 GeV, produced from τ lepton rare decays at Belle II, in the context of R-parity-violating (RPV) supersymmetry. With large and clean samples of τ leptons produced at the Belle II experiment, excellent sensitivity to such light neutralinos with the exotic signatures of displaced vertices is expected. We focus on two benchmark scenarios of single RPV operators, $$ {\lambda}_{311}^{\prime }{L}_3{Q}_1{\overline{D}}_1 $$ λ 311 ′ L 3 Q 1 D ¯ 1 and $$ {\lambda}_{312}^{\prime }{L}_3{Q}_1{\overline{D}}_2 $$ λ 312 ′ L 3 Q 1 D ¯ 2 , which induce both the production and decay of the lightest neutralino. For the reconstruction of a displaced vertex, we require at least two charged pions in the final states. We perform Monte-Carlo simulations for both signal and background events, and find that Belle II can explore regions in the parameter space competitive with other probes. In particular, for the $$ {\lambda}_{311}^{\prime } $$ λ 311 ′ scenario, it can put limits up to two orders of magnitude stronger than the current bounds.

We review the status of rare decays and CP violation in extensions of the Standard Model. We analyze the determination of the unitarity triangle and the model-independent constraints on new physics that can be derived from this analysis. We find stringent bounds on new contributions to [Formula: see text] and [Formula: see text] mixing, pointing either to models of minimal flavour violation or to models with new sources of flavour and CP violation in b → s transitions. We discuss the status of the universal unitarity triangle in minimal flavour violation, and study rare decays in this class of models. We then turn to supersymmetric models with nontrivial mixing between second and third generation squarks, discuss the present constraints on this mixing and analyze the possible effects on CP violation in b → s nonleptonic decays and on [Formula: see text] mixing. We conclude presenting an outlook on Lepton-Photon 2009.

We present recent results on CP violation in the B meson system from the BABAR experiment at the PEP II asymmetric e+e- collider. We discuss the study of CP violation in B-mixing and present measurements of unitarity-triangle angles α, β, and constraints on γ.

Abstract The study of hyperon decays at the Beijing Electron Spectrometer III (BESIII) is proposed to investigate the events of J/ψ decay into hyperon pairs, which provide a pristine experimental environment at the Beijing Electron–Positron Collider II. About 106–108 hyperons, i.e., Λ, Σ, Ξ, and Ω, will be produced in the J/ψ and ψ(2S) decays with the proposed data samples at BESIII. Based on these samples, the measurement sensitivity of the branching fractions of the hyperon decays is in the range of 10−5–10−8. In addition, with the known center-of-mass energy and “tag technique”, rare decays and decays with invisible final states can be probed.
